A long time ago when i was fresh out of high school i wrote a few checks with my first bank account and they played off eachother and some bounced. now there were 2 checks when i was 18 and one when i was 19. I am now 22, what will happen about these? I never had the funds to clear them up and just recently found out how serious this is. Can someone tell me what exactly i am in for and also how to figure out who i owe money to and clear it up? I cant remeber whom i owe for these checks its been so long ago but i want to try to clear them up if at all possible.

I have a oportunity to work at a minimum security private prison, the wages are above average for the area i live in. I have never done this kind of work before, being a minimum security facility would it be a lot safer then most prisons? Also i tend to be a non confrintational person, i generally get along with everyone, would this cause me problems? I don't want to get stuck in a career where i hate going to work how big of a adjustment would this job be?

If your traveling at night and you see a car on the road swerving and maybe speeding. The person is clearly driving like an idiot, they may or may not be drunk. Would you call the police on the spot and report this person?

I recently found out I received a parking ticket for being in a bus stop area around 11pm at night but I was not parked and my car was on and running. I was there no more than a minute. I once was told that if you are not parked you cannot receive a ticket. Is this true? Should I try and dispute this $300 or will it likely be a waste of time? Please Help

Ok I was driving the other day and my car hit the back of another car, actually it was not a hit but just a scratch, the lady came out of the car and took my informations and stuff.. Then she called a cop I don't know why ..anyway he took our informations etc...

then I went to the insurance company and informed them about it.. Now they sent me an insured statement of automobile loss. I haven't asked for that though because there was no damage to my car..

So the question is in this case, is it the one has his car damaged that should contact my insurance company or is it me?

Thank you.

My state (Illinois) does not have a conceal-carry gun permit program, would it therefore be legal to do so with a knife? (I walk daily through an area where people have been killed during muggings.)

Are shows such as Boston Legal and Shark a fair relfection of the court room? The two shows often make claims, such as "the court room is about a popularity contest, whoever sounds the best can wins", that basically say evidence is secondary to the ability of a lawyer to speak well. Is that true in real courts?

She moved out without officially terminating the lease. I moved out recently. The court has ordered us to pay for "damages". She hired a lawyer who represents her but does not care about me so much. She demands that I pay full amount, even though I have been paying my portion of the rent religiously. It does not make sense! Her lawyer is not keeping me in the loop, and has no incentive to help me. Parallel to the court order to pay for the money "damages", the landlord has offered to settle, if I forget about my security deposit. What should I do?

I'm doing a persuasive speech with my topic being: Should the main goal of prisons be to rehabilitate or reprimand(punish). I'm persuading the reprimand side. I need sites, accounts, stories, statistics ANYTHING that can help to persuade my audience that the main goal of prisons should in fact be to punish and that rehabilitation is a joke or doesn't work or that it's a waste of time and money that would oh so helpful! I need as much information as you can find and sites along with the information will be greatly appreciated for my biliography! Thank you so much!

Can anyone out there tell me what kind of schooling you would do to eventually enter into the special victims unit/ sex crimes unit? I imagine you would have to enter into a police acadamy too, but i'm not positive. And, I have PTSD, would that maybe bar me or affect my getting a job in a sex crimes unit?
