Can anyone out there tell me what kind of schooling you would do to eventually enter into the special victims unit/ sex crimes unit? I imagine you would have to enter into a police acadamy too, but i'm not positive. And, I have PTSD, would that maybe bar me or affect my getting a job in a sex crimes unit?

You would have to get hired by a police dept, go to and pass the academy, make it through a field training program and then hump calls on the street for years. You would then need to be promoted to Detective. Then you will spend years working property crimes cases. Then, once you have proved your ability, you may be offered a position in Sex Crimes, Homicide or the likes.

PTSD, you can't even be a cop. All they need is to give you a gun and you trip.
