About a month ago, I was pulled over for speeding, but I was under the influence, and so they took me in. When they pulled me over, I blew .133, and the legal limit in CA is .08. When I got to the station, I blew .111. I was checked into the station at 12:30 midnight, and they said that I should be out shortly after sunrise. I wasn't let out untill 9:30 pm. So I was in there for 21 hours. I originally wasn't going to hire a lawyer, but I heard that maybe I should. What do you think?

I was stopped by a local officer in Creve Coeur, MO for going 80 in a 60 mph zone. I plan on getting an attorney to "fix it" so I will not get points on my license. How much can I expect to pay in attorney fees and fines?

I know all about entrapment, and constitutional rights, so please don't harp on me about that. I was just curious what the general consensous was.

At what point does a traffic cop decide to pull someone over?

The other day I got caught going 32 in a 25 (school zone when it was active). The officer gave me a warning ticket (i.e. no charge, no further action required on my part: just slow down!). What I wonder is if there is some threshold by which an officer judges (a) if someone is worth pulling over for speeding and (b) if it's a chargeable offense vs a simple warning.

I want to request my deceased father's FBI files. He had to go through a stringent clearance process because he served on a ship that observed the detonation at Bikini Atoll. Is there any sort of fee, whatsoever, such as $5 a page? How best to begin this process?

the driver is 15, does not have a license.. and 3 people were in the backseat--we were drunk. Of course we got caught, we fled the scene STUPIDLY because we thot we mite not get caught...i was the only person who came back 2 tha scene and they were glad of that. but i also was the first person to get a breathalizer, i live in kansas..so rules here may be different than rules in other states, i blew a .117, so obviously im going to probably be on diversion and get an MIC.. the other people wil most likely be charged with fleeing tha scene, tha police told me it was really good and "brave" i came back to the scene and it will look better on my record. Do you think I will be charged with anything else other than diversion for 6 months and an MIC (the MIC will be taken off my record w tha help of diversion...) **Many of my friends have had this same incident, just not gettin in a wreck..jus the MIC and blowing MUCH more than me and have just been put on diversion for 6 months...** Answers?

It seems to me, we have more to fear from the police than from the criminals they take their "back-handers" from! If they are not killing people with their joy-riding, they,er screwing us for every penny they can get, without working for it!

I took my car to a neighborhood mechanic to look at it for me. Well, without my permission he took it to a professional mechanic. He authorized the professional mechanic to take a look at my car. I asked the neighborhood mechanic to bring my car back to me because I was going to take it to my regular mechanic and now I can't find the neighboorhood mechanic anywere. The professional mechanic is telling me that he will not give me my car back and that someone has to pay him for the work and storage on my car. I never authorized this mechanic to do anything to my car and the police said it is a civil matter and that he can't keep me from getting my car. But, the towing people don't want to get involved and take the car off his lot. I have no idea what to do! Can anyone help?

My boyfriend wrote me and told me to look him up on the internet. I just don't know what website to go to. I heard that there is a website you can go onto and it will show you his picture and what he is charged with.
