I live in an apt. bldg. in NJ & today my Mom who cares for my son while I work, took my 14 month old son for a ride in the stroller in the hallway as she's done many times before. It just so happened that while she was going up & down the hallway, the apt. rental manager came to the floor to show a couple an apt. that was vacant & ready to be rented. While she was around, my son started to cry and make some noise and then the apt. manager ordered my Mom to go back into her apt. otherwise she would call the cops because according to her, the hallway was not a playground & we were disrupting the other tenants. I should mention, this happened at 4:00 pm on a weekday while most people are at work. I don't know much about laws but is this harrasment? Can the cops really do something to me? My son sometimes cries while out in the hallway but it is nothing ear-piercing. He only really cries when we stop the stroller because he likes the ride or when we're about to go back inside the apt

How can I find out the fees for violation on the road in California. For example what is the penalty for one person in the carpool lane or too fast on construction zones or littering. Is there an oficial web site. I tried the DMV but it only gives me the laws not the fees.

Just Curious. Is it true that if a man were to call police on a woman, because she assaulted him, the police would either not attend the call, or laugh and spit in the man's face? Is it true that if a woman wants to get revenge on her spouse in some way, all she has to do is fabricate a story that her husband or boyfriend assaulted her in some way, and the police will attend IMMEDIATELY and lock up the husband/boyfriend EVEN IF THEY FIND OUT IT'S NOT TRUE? Is it also true that the court would convict the man, even if they know the man is innocent? I'm just exagerating a little bit, but I would like to hear from police and judges the TRUTH on this. Is it fair? Is it ENCOURAGED in North American culture to ALWAYS favour women over men, and BASH men at every opportunity?

What do you feel is a fair sentence with a child predator? AND are there any cases where you think that laws should vary just a bit. Example a 15 yr old with say a 19 yr old? Do you think he should have to register as a sex offender?

I will be taking a polygraph test for a police department job. Up until this point on all my paper work and my background check I have said I have never done drugs. Ever in my life. That is not the truth. In high school (10 years ago) I experimented with marijuna and once in since December 2005 I have gotten high. When asked the question about doing illegal drugs I am worried that it will show up that I am not telling the truth or "lying." What should I do about this? Or how can I pass this when I know I will not be telling the truth.

When a cop gives you a ticket for speeding or not wearing a seatbelt, how does he prove that you actually did this if he doesn't have it on video? Couldn't a cop just point the radar detector at another car and then say it was you? It's basically your word against his in court, and isn't that just hearsay? Don't they actually need to prove that you did something in order to punish you for it?

I will be leaving for Florida on my 21st birthday. However, we leave very early in the morning so I won't be able to get my license switched here in Illinois before we go. It will still say under 21 until 5/16/07 but it will have the date and prove that I am 21. Will this be a problem? Will I be able to get served?
