I recall people feeling the same way in 1974, when another group of people (Northern Irish Catholics) in the same city were made to feel the heat of English hate - so much so that they became the Birmingham Six...and were jailed for life, and after serving sixteen years in prison were released after new evidence (or old evidence - take your pick) came to light.
The death of Mr. Menezes at Stockwell tube station and the cowboy-style shooting up of a house in East London, of which a 'suspect' was shot also might be making police in Birmingham extra careful this time...and not merely of the London machismo shoot-ups, but of the last incident that involved 'terrorists' in Birmingham.

Britishlol...'defend my country'? It's mine as well, but have been somewhat depressed to see how many innocent people have suffered in this 'defence' - and how people who merely LOOK LIKE them have had to put up with abuse from the so-called 'law abiding taxpayer' (id est; caucasian Daily Mail readers who are not too keen on anyone who doesn't go to the same social club as they do). There indeed are scum who want to turn 'my country' (to quote you) into a paranoiac box, but how about thinking about the majority of Asians - if they were born here, or not - who are just as terrified as you and me.

Mohammed Abdul Kahar had been arrested by police on suspicion of making pornographic pictures of children, and was in custody at a London police station. He denied the allegations. No charges were brought against him...why was that, Jungleboy? I'm sure you're going to enlighten us with your knowledge - and on the subject of De Menezes...it was true, he was an illegal immigrant - but I'm sure your employment of the term is to have us dears immediately think of a Daily Mail front-page dirge.

Nice to see you answering another one of my questions, Caracas...by the way - welcome to Yahoo answers. As you've only been on here for mere hours, could be in time you might accept that not all might accept your side of things - are you a serving policeman, or, like jungleboy, an ex-cop (for whatever reason). But again in time, you'll find lots waiting to take you into their wee breasts - especially a wee lass from Wales...who I suspect hasn't a bad bone in her body, but good with words and will use her clever terminology to bring people not unlike you out of the woodwork.
