What do you feel is a fair sentence with a child predator? AND are there any cases where you think that laws should vary just a bit. Example a 15 yr old with say a 19 yr old? Do you think he should have to register as a sex offender?

I would say for a true child predator there should be life sentences maybe the death penalty.

Now situations where a 19 year old and 15 year old are dating and decide to have sex I would not call being a child predator. bad judgment maybe. Unless there is for real rape involved.

I mean if they are both in high school at the same time and dating well stuff happens. Also sometimes it is hard to know who is 18. there are girls at college who have skipped a grade or two who are 16.

Fair sentence?

Death.

Anyone who rapes a child deserves no less. 19 year old with a 15 year old?

I don't see the 15 year old as a child per se and the 19 year old should not have to register as a sex offender. There needs to be an "age relative clause" which would take into account the relative difference in ages.

Your example of a 19 year old with a 15 to 17 year old is perfect. But a 30 or 40 year old with a 15 year old is a mighty different story.

I don't think they can be rehabilitated, but there should have to be more evidence, today any 12-15 year old girl can say that a man raped her, when it might have not happened at all, and that guy will be a sex offender for the rest of his life. In your esample I just think better judgment would have been nice, but if the 15 year old was there and ready than its partially her fault too.

Child predators should be put to death. And as for your example, yes, the 19 year old should have to register as a sex offender.

I think any person who touches a child should be put to death! it ruins not only the child but the entire family. In the example you set I do believe this is a different issue and should be classified as sex with a minor not a child molester. the courts should define this better. I have a neighbor who is on the sex offender registry but I don't know what his crime because all it said is sex acts with a minor. They need to clarify. This person will never be around my children though. And if he did it with a child under 15 he should burn in Hell.

Child predators and sex offenders should be locked up for life. No exceptions, and no attempts at rehabilitation. They are sick people and do not deserve a second chance. The odds are too highly stacked against them, and it's unlikely that they'll be sufficiently rehabilitated.

An exception for people within a year of each other, like a 17 yr. old and an 18 yr. old would be acceptable.

For all the other pervs, hanging in the public square.

I'm sick of the "story" that people can't control their compulsions.

They should be put away for life, and there should be no more than one year age difference in my opinion. These people cannot be rehabilitated, and why take a chance? Would you want a "rehabilitated" individual in the same neighborhood as your children?

Yes, the 19 year old should find someone more their age. 15 is too young to be courting.
