I see a lot of rap sheets of Hispanic offenders that were transferred to ICE. What exactly is that?

My roommate was arrested this weekend for breaking three car windows in front of a house party. There was no theft attempt, he was just really really wasted. Apparently he blew a .29 bac. I know this guy, he really is a genuinely good dude, but he was completely blacked out and broke over $800 worth of property. In 2002 he got his 3rd dwi, but has been without incident with the law since then.
He is a student in college here at the University, is a 3.0+ student, has an internship for marketing and has a lot going for him.
He was charged with felony criminal damage to property. I am going to say a few things on his behalf in court and ask that he can be put on probation and put in some sort of alcohol program. I'm really scared for him that they are going to put him in jail and he'll have to drop out of college.

I am wondering if the judge would have some leniancy and let him repay everyone, pay a fine, and plea bargain to a lessser crime providing he stays sober? Thanks.

In Oct. '06 I was pulled over for a DUI (stupidity on my part). I was taken in fingerprinted and then released to a friend to take me home and there was no bail.

It has now been almost 5 months and I have not recieved a ticket or been summoned to court. According to the County Clerk: Criminal Records Division they have no information on anything being filed against me.

My question is: Do I still have to pay the fines to get my liscence back since I have not been charged with anything? Will I still be required to get DUI plates for my car? Whatever happened to a fair and SPEEDY trial?

I know I am guilty for the DUI but, this seems unfair for me to wait all this time and not even recieve a ticket. Any information would be helpful or even a website that might answer these questions. Thank you in advance.

I may be relocated from IL to CA for work. If I own an AR-15 that is legal in IL am I able to register it in CA as is or must I have it modified to be legal in CA. I understand the modification that must take place for the AR to be legal in CA - I'm just wondering if since I already purchased one as a resident of another state am I allowed to own it in CA as it is? ...or am I required to have the modification made to it when I register it in CA?

thing is my friend is telling me that their boyfriend is involved in a gang and they are asking for money otherwise they are going to press charges against me. she said they put a wire on her saved our emails& instant meseages & recorded or listened in on our phone conversations. nothing has happened between us except us being friends. she even said they put a gun to her head. she was the one who mentioned sexual things cuz she is telling me she is needs this money to get out of the gang. thing is she is like a compulsive liar. the last couple of times she asked for money i said i wasn't goin away empty handed and she keeps sayin no sex, i never said sex or nething like that. i just want to know if its ok if i just walk away from this without any legal trouble because i want no part of this. it hurts cuz i care about her but i want no part of her lies and want to be sure i did nothing wrong legally. i think i didn't but if someone can help me than please do. please help this sucks

I'm filling out an application for a police officer job. They ask if you have used any "illegal or felonious drugs" on the application. Should I mark "yes" or "no"? And do you think that when I'm interviewed or polygraphed I should explain the situation, and tell them this was the only time I ever tried something like this?

A few weeks ago a recieved a speeding ticket for going 51 in a 35. This is my first offense/ticket and I have been driving for a number of years already. I sent in the ticket and plead not guilty. (While I know I was speeding I thought the speedlimit was 45 because it was a road that turned from a Highway into a village road).

What is the worst that can happen going 16 miles over the speed limit? And when should I expect to hear back from the town about my new court date?

I live in the state of New York.

And it's about time!! When he had just a normal bench warrant, the cops told me that they wouldn't do anything unless they arrested him on something else. Now that it's a felony warrant, will they actually go look for him or will it just sit there as well??
