And it's about time!! When he had just a normal bench warrant, the cops told me that they wouldn't do anything unless they arrested him on something else. Now that it's a felony warrant, will they actually go look for him or will it just sit there as well??

He lives in the same state as I do, but in different counties. I'm not sure about the "nationwide/statewide pickup". I just got a letter that said they issued a felony warrant and they expect my full cooperation.

Felony warrants throughout the United States are normally entered into the law enforcement database NCIC.

Once this warrant is entered, law enforcement agencies are able to access the information.

IF the warrant is "Nationwide Pickup" your ex will be arrested.

If the warrant is "Statewide Pickup Only" then you may have a problem if your ex leaves the state.

My own spouse has an ex who is over $30K behind in child support. He also has a felony warrant yet remains outside the state. Nice thing is...even though he's not been arrested for the child support...he HAS spent time in the Arkansas State Prison system.

There is a silver lining in the clouds!

Best wishes!

NOTE: Seeing your additional comment...

Contact the county of which he's residing in if you have his address there. Let them know he's there and also has an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

One thing to remember is...if he's in jail...he doesn't work! If he doesn't work then there's still no child support.

Personally, I'd just as well see them sit in jail and not consider the child support other than payment for entertainment services knowing they're sitting in jail for their wrong doing.

As for the comment about "your cooperation." Don't back down when this case goes to court. See it through! This is the problem with many "victims" in a case....they are confronted by the former relationship who tells them "Oh baby...I'll never do it again!"

Yeah...right!!!!

I think if you haven't had any help in 6 years from him then give up your obviously not going to get any. I think it is wrong putting someone in jail for child support you knew what you were doing when you spread your legs so tired of women complaining because they don't get support its your responsibility to raise that child just as much as his and he doesn't have the means to do so it seems like so be glad you have your child in my opinion you already won you get your child and he's missing out.

It depends on where you live, if there is alot of crime where you are it is not going to be first on their list, if they pick him up for something else may be your only hope,
If you live in a place where the cops have notheing beter to do, your chances are better...good luck...what a cad.

Unscrew one of his tail light bulbs. When he's pulled over for a light being out, they will run his name and then he will be arrested on the spot!
