Depending how well the investigating facility is staffed and equipped, a ballistics test and matching, if one is possible, should take anywhere between a few minutes and a few hours, but, with the volume of crime and the backlog of work that many facilities must cope with, results could take anywhere from days to even months to obtain.
Ballistics,as well as most other forensics seen on TV, on CSI and all its' clones is usually fairy-tales. CSI Miami is about the worst offender. Not only do crime lab personnel NOT arrest people and carry out most investigative procedures, they DON"T ride around in $70,000 Hummers, either! ! ! Most CSI vehicles are non-descript step-vans or trucks. In fact, most CSI personnel are not even police, but civilian employees, AND DON'T EVEN CARRY GUNS! ! ! !

If the crime unit is well staffed about 15-30 minutes. If they are not, I'd say 1 or 2 days.

As much time as it takes to fire a round in the suspected weapon, recover the bullet, and compare it under the microscope.

15 to 45 minutes, unless the CSI is milking the taxpayers, then it's 24 to 48 hours.
