was burgled and emptied of all it's contents, then, all of a sudden they were knocking on my door to ask if I had seen anything on the night in question, I didn't answer the door because they refused to help me when I needed their help a week earlier so I refused to help them when they needed help because of a burgalry.

Was that the right thing to do?

Why police officer can not carry a tape recorder to take statements in stead of spending most of working life filling forms and updating their note books, and stupitidity of the system is such that ,they have to do even more writing than ever before, because of the Human Rights Act.

kept on the computer, finally went to bed and about 1.30am heard a car start up so i looked out the window and noticed a big white van reversed in my drive way, i rang my husband in America, (im in Australia) he told me to ring the police, i finally did after i couldn't stop my body from shaking, I felt totally embarrassed, i didn't want to be a bother to them, the police were great, they checked around the house and the guy had broken into my back shed but it was empty, My question is should i have felt embarrassed?

I believe that entities and individuals do NOT want the Real Estate market to cool off and want affluent Real Estate Investors to make money at the expense of poor people. There have been murders in Pacoima that are never reported by the Daily News or at the LAPD on line. People in the Pierce St and Sproule Ave are not fans of Law Enforcement. Enough "Peace" Officers are intimidating and impose. Has Mara Salvatrucha 13{ASSASSINATION = 13 letters} infiltrated Law Enforcement? Since they have experience fighting the Salvadorean government do you think they are on par with the FBI on intelligence, and stuff? I am SO scared for my life that I would NEVER speak to Law Enforcement EVEN anonymously. I will hopefully be out in 1 week from HELL in PACOIMA.

I was doing the usual security checks for the night, windows, etc, (just before I go to bed) and I noticed a dark car parked outside my house (this is the 2nd time I've seen it). On this occasion only, however, I decided to stand and see how long he was planning on parking there. Within seconds, another car came alongside and the driver got out, rushed to this car parked outside my driveway and took a white packet from him and drove off! Should I report this to the police?

i know it's wrong but i am just curious, how many years apart do you have to be in order not to be charged with statuetory rape? like let say a 20 year old met a 17 year old. would that be taken to court for statuetory? in my point of view statuetory rape is just plain out rape so if one doesn't want relations the other might force it anyways. but if they both feel that they're ready for such a relationship, i don't see how they could put it against you. am i wrong.

This is for the police officers, what was the stupid or most amusing thing you have seen while on duty? Or the most stupid, most amusing excuse someone has told you while on duty?

Hopefully someone like a police officer can answer this, but is it best for a woman to fight an assailent when held at gun point or are the chances of surviving better if you play along?

Are there any statistics on this?

Thanks for the time!

I have heard from a source that a certain city in the U.S. is close or may have already made a way for people with picture phones to send images to 911 sevices. What does this mean to the public? If it is happening, it will make every citizen a police. What a bout the blackmail factor? Our technology is becoming our warden. I love technology. If I didn't I wouldn't be here. but I am almost terrorfied of all the things that will come in the coming years while comsumerism is using the imagination to sell products. The quest for money is rapidly closing doors and tightining our Beautiful spacious skies. Our search for securtiy is robbing us of our security. Personally, I don't want a person hanging me with a picturephone and photoshop. Thats my opinion, Whats yours?

Thanks for your help in advance.
I got a speeding tickets for going 80 mile on 60 mile zone on I-75 near southern Georgia.
I have a FL license and it's going to be a very, very far drive for me to go back to appeal in court. I have been driving for 10 years and this is my very first ticket.
I am not sure what is the best way to do. I called the county court and they told me the ticket is going to be $400+, and plus I will have the points on my driving record. Also, the lady who answered my question on the phone was really rude, and told me basically even if I appeal in the court, I will have NO chance to pay less fine, plus I have to pay for the court fee. She made it sound like there's no benefit to appeal at all.
My friend suggested to hire an traffic lawyer but I've also heard that would cost more than $1000.
Can anyone here offer any advise? I don't know if I should just suck it up and pay, or appeal in court..or what else I can do...
Thanks for your answer!!

I am currently going through a background investigation with a law enforcement agency. I had to list every job (including silly part-timers) I've held in the last 7 years. Do they really contact each one even if it's irrelevant to the position you're applying for? Just curious

I was going through the security check at PHX airport on Tuesday with my boyfriend, and the Police arrested me for a warrant they said the Grand Jury Indicted me. They took me downstairs at the airport and frisked me, no finger prints or mug shot or booking number, then drove me downtown to "bond" out. Then drove me back to the airport to catch the next flight. My boyfriend said the Police told him that since the new passport law changed on Tuesday, there is a new "super computer" that knows every flight I take and that's how they knew I was there, and they arrested me. I fly internationally every week. It has never happened before and that is an old warrant. I think they got tipped off. Do they have a new system that checks for warrants? If so, when I book a flight online, does that go to a computer that tells them who I am, where I'm going and when?

Can the police in a Commonwealth State (example Virginia) simply deliver a box via USPS and arrest someone who does not live at the location after they accepted the box but did not sign for or open it?

Also, what are the ramifications of the police then seizing property from the house and not giving a property list to the owner so that they can identify their items?

Simply, can u just arrest someone for somethign u delivered even though there is no proof they own it?

I would be greatful if someone can shed light on this for me.

So, I woke up this morning with the sound of kids laughing and the sound of rocks being thrown. I heard the voices and they were the kids i knew down the street. I could barley see two that I knew.
Anyways, I thought I should let them play and have fun, no harm was being done, right? So Later in the day, I was going out to get the mail. I see all these rocks in the street, my garbage can lid on my drive way, rocks on our car and all over the driveway, oil on the outside of my gate, spilled on the drive way, and on the front of my garage door. The car paint was chipped and there were chips on my bedroom window. I talked to their parents and they said their kid wasnt out. And once I thought about it, the kid I saw was shorter than the boy I thought did it. They said the other kid that was out that I knew was known to throw rocks, and we know the mom of the kid wasn't very compliant . For ex: she wouldnt talk.
By law, what can I do and how can I force the mom to talk?
