I was told he was a felon, and I know he owns guns. I'd like to check it out. Thanks!

Gotta side with MIKEYSCO on this one. I am going on 12 years of California law enforcement and know that your local police will be interested in knowing that this guy has guns and may be a felon. Have no doubt that the police will do the research needed to verify his felon status and they will take care of the rest.

Now, if you really must know, criminal histories are confidential in most places. You may be able to find his criminal background using a service such as INTELLIUS or NETDETECTIVE but they will charge you for this service. There is also sort of a little known loophole to finding out someone's criminal history. Court records are considered public in most places. Most courts now have internet accessible databases documenting court cases that will detail convictions, charges, etc. Go onto an internet browser and search for your county's court records. Search the person's name and see what you come up with.

If you do discover that he is a felony with firearms, please call your local police and let them deal with it. He may seem like a good guy, but putting him on the spot by letting him know that you have this information could make him do something stupid.

Good luck with your quest!

Yes- you can find just about anything you want to knwo about a person and their personal history and life. One of the sources is Peoplesearch.com. Some information is available without pay however, as you request deeper information, you will have to pay a fee. I think the smallest I have seen for a search of this nature is about $39.95. Good luck. You are very smart to research background on anyone you may have questions about. I did, and was glad to know before I got involved with someone whether they had a dangerous past. Sometimes people are not forthcoming with the truth - and it's up to you to investigate for your own safety and protection.
