Will a warrant for a speeding ticket eventually clear itself after a certain amount of years? I have a younger brother who received one about 4 years ago and never went to court for it. Somehow, I recall someone telling me before that after a certain amount of years, the warrant clears. Sounds crazy, but I thought I would ask. We live in Houston, Texas but I believe he received it on the way to Austin in some random small city.

I once was charged with fraud and i had gone through diversion (which means no criminal record and no jail sentence, the only thing i got is $300 fine and an apologies letter). I was then asked by the prosecutor to be their witness. What i have done so far is : i had been to the committal and the judge had ruled my evidence as valid, and so the defendants are due to appear in court in late 2007 for trial and the trail will last for one month. I am now working full time oveaseas and the prosecutor actually contacted me via email and he also contacted my old friends to get my phone number and asked me to be back to australia to be their witness.

I am wondering, since i did not have any undertaking, am i obliged to attend the trial? What if they send me the subponea? Under what circumstances will i be obliged to attend?

thanks for all your input!

I'm trying to make a murder mystery I wrote more realistic. It centers on a homicide detective. Most of it is about the investigation, but there is also a side story going on in her personal life. I have read lots of crime nonfiction, but I've never come across anything indicating what kind of time off a detective would have.

Obviously it's not a 9 to 5 job. When you have a hot lead, you follow it up then instead of punching the time clock, heading home, and picking things up the next day. But how much of a life outside of work should my fictional detective have? It's a high profile murder. Would I be farfetched if I had her work all week on the case and part of Saturday, but taking Saturday afternoon and all of Sunday off? I know that homicide detectives usually have a caseload of more than one case, so there must be some kind of a schedule that allows them to have down time.

Any insight would be appreciated!

Recently, I moved to Delaware. When I applied for my DE license I was told my PA license was suspended for failure to pay a speeding ticket. In 2005 I did receive a speeding ticket. I believe I had paid it but the magistrate had no record of the payment. I paid the fine this week and have a receipt. How do I go about getting my PA license unsuspended? I have the Restoration Requirements Letter, but it says nothing about what happens after I pay the Restoration Fee and Return my PA Driver's License.

A friend of mine was blind sided a few nights ago with a beer bottle at a bar. The person was thrown out that did it, the police were not called by the bar etc. My friend went home and the next day was in obvious distress. She didnt call the police or go to the hospital becaues she thought the pain would just go away. Well, today, 3 days later, she called the police and they said basically there is nothng they can do because she didnt call them right when it happened and this is absolute BS in my opinion. Its assault for God sake. She is at the hospital right now as we speak getting checked out. If this is a common practice with law enforcement, I will be writing a letter to the proper people about this. Its things like this that make people not respect the police in general

i am 18. i just got fired for stealing about 15$ of alcohol. i also helped my friend steal some and he is 17 (a minor). i ended up paying for everything and settled with my boss and he agreed to not press any charges or contact the cops over it. my stepmother has not acted very warm-heartedly over this. is she actually capable of getting me in trouble with the cops, and possibly to court and so on? for this i don't think it matters too much, but i live in montana. thanks a bunch

I need the number of persons who were murdered or injured with stolen guns in 2006 or 2005. Possibly along with the percent of incidents that are caused by a person weilding a stolen gun. I also need sources for the info. First one to give me with accurate statistics gets 10 points. (Sorry for any spelling errors)
