i am 18. i just got fired for stealing about 15$ of alcohol. i also helped my friend steal some and he is 17 (a minor). i ended up paying for everything and settled with my boss and he agreed to not press any charges or contact the cops over it. my stepmother has not acted very warm-heartedly over this. is she actually capable of getting me in trouble with the cops, and possibly to court and so on? for this i don't think it matters too much, but i live in montana. thanks a bunch

No she cannot do anything about this. Cops have enough real crimes to solve rather than worry about something that petty. Even if she did call and complain they would likely just suggest gettting some family counseling. The fact that you already made reparation shows that you felt remorseful and took actions to correct your behaviours. That sounds pretty responsibe to me and it will to anyone else as well. Stop worrying about things that will never happen it is a big waste of time. Best luck.

Your stepmom sounds like shes crazy.

Justdave, just get over it. Even the man they stole the liquor from has managed to get over it.

Thats the sh*tiest reason I've ever heard of to urge sending someone into the military... in fact it almost seems insulting... lets make an army out of petty criminals!!! It will be the best army ever!!!

People make mistakes, people will be misguided at times. the guy must not be THAT bad otherwise i suspect his manager would have called the cops

Your Boss has resolved the problem. I think your stepmother is very disappointed in you and is not concealing her anger. No, she can't file a complaint against you as you did nothing to her.
One think you must remember your actions will follow you through life and for ever action is a consequence. Best clean up you act. You do realize your Boss will not give you a reference of any kind other than telling about the thief. Time to grown up and be responsible person.

because of the quantity of the tranaction in maximum all states it would be seen a misdemeanor and can require greater beneficial action out of your former boss to make sure that strikes to be pursued. the guy who could have been at teh excellent possibility for criminal legal duty is particularly the save proprietor had he no longer carried out something suitable to the infraction. ultimately think of until now you act, what sounds cool on a settee can rapidly spiral out of control tremendously given which you're an grownup and it remains on your record generally for the greater effectual area of your existence.

I am not sure about your laws in your state but here in California she would not be able to get you in trouble only the boss would. Furthermore, you are 18 so just tell her to back off and move on with your life. we all make mistakes. do not let her scare you. she is just a bully. stand up for yourself and get on with it! I say this with kindness. Good luck.

If the person you stole from doesn't want to press charges, I doubt the cops could do much.

I do not know about the laws applicable in Montana, but from the look of it, I do not think she can do anything. Police has not been reported. Your slate is clean of such foolish thing. If you are too worried, please ask a lawyer.

Unless your S-Mom really dislikes you chances are unless the boss goes along with it, nothing else can be done. It's called Expost-Facto ; after the fact.

If no crime was reported then there is no proof it was ever committed in the first place.
