Unless this person is " alleged " to have committed a crime against children, elderly, murder, or arson, etc., .Or is charged in a terrorist plot, it's pretty much none of anybodys business. If someone is charged in a crime they are supposed to be considered innocent until proven guilty by a jury of their peirs. With the world the way it is today, if the person is accused of a crime against a person and there is an aggrevated attachment, and you live in an apartment community, then I believe the apartment community has a right to know that a resident amoung them has been charged BUT, I would also, in the same breath impress upon the apartment community that it was only allegations and that the person on house arrest has not been found GUILTY of anything yet. People are going to react in the same manner whether you tell them or not! Also, depending on what part of the country you live in, there are laws about that sort of thing. One might say the community has a right to be informed, while another might say the person under house arrest is entitled to their privacy. Read your Constitution. And your Rights to privacy.
GOD BLESS/GOOD LUCK!!

No. It's none of his concern, and might actually lead him to be suspicious of you (which might cause him to snoop around your place or read your mail. Some landlord's do this). Unless something comes up where you are asked to leave the premises for a time (like exterminator or remodelling services), I wouldn't say a thing. Your personal life is none of his concern, as long as it isn't doing any damage to his property.

My landlord never knew when I was on house arrest, my roommate's landlord (at a different house) never knew she was either.

Sheesh, guys, think about it. Of course he needs to know because he'll want to know why the cops are at his house.
You're all saying he doesn't need to know because you're thinking that's one less snitch in case you sneak out. Or he might give you thirty days to move. Both are his right, eh? meanwhile, let him know why the police suddenly like his neighborhood.

I would say no.
But MAN, how bad do you have to mess up to get yourself in that situation?
I would die of shame before my landlord ever had the opportunity to find out!
