It seems to me, we have more to fear from the police than from the criminals they take their "back-handers" from! If they are not killing people with their joy-riding, they,er screwing us for every penny they can get, without working for it!

No don't trust anyone- I wouldn't trust you either.
Absolutely everyone in jail is innocent and they should all be released. Great idea
Lets see- lets sack all the police, dismantle the court system and then see what happens.
I'll bet there be no more crime what a fantastic idea. You should write to Tony Bliar he might take it up.
You sound abit like my dear brother who was caught drink driving just before Christmas. He started moaning about the Police should be doing a proper job like chasing murderers etc.
I wonder how many people die each year in drink related accidents. Never mind that could never happen to my brother after all he's such a brilliant driver he's bound not to have a crash. My brother acted like a Tos**r and deserves everything he will get when he goes to court next week!

I don't know any specifics of this incident, so I'll reply in the general:

Some police are bad. They should be suspended, fired, arrested, fined or imprisoned depending on the severity of their offenses, just like everybody else. I won't back a dirty cop, because they make us ALL look bad.

However, if you don't like all the police, then I suggest that you run for office, get elected, and abolish them.

Wonder how much you'll like the society you'd wind up with??

Remember, there'd be no one to call when all hell breaks loose, you get mugged, stabbed, or shot; no one to call if your car gets stolen or your property gets damaged...Not even anyone to call if your idiot neighbor is having a huge party and you need to go to work in 3 hours...

Sounds like a dream world for you...but excuse me if I opt out of it...

isn't that a bit of a sweeping statement, not all police are corrupt because if they were, we wouldn't bother having a police force or abiding by the law, there are only a few police officers making a bad name for the rest

totally agree with you mate, half dozen or so policemen from stockport area over the last couple of years have been tried for very serious crimes eg drug dealing ,conspiracy, perverting the course of justice ,perjury, ect and been criticised by judges for telling lies in very big trials eg shipman trial ,david barnshaw trial, some of these officers are very high ranking officers some if not all have been allowed to retire before they lost there pensions which i believe to be scandalas we are talking about dci level of officer, some of the same officers were proven to have told lies at both the above trials but what has happened to them? ill tell you nothing !

I hate the police. Anyone who wants to become one, or is a Police officer, sign's up, -because they don't have the bottle to go into the armed force's, they pick on the civilian's, they pull you over for doing 42mph in a 30 zone, -like that's a 'real' crime, instead of catching the real criminal's.

HEY,
Come on we are not all "bent"

i AM A POLICE OFFICER AND I WOULD HAVE NO TROUBLE ARRESTING ANOTHER OFFICER IF SHE/HE BROKE THE LAW.

OK.
