We tossed a young couple out of the hotel. They were fighting in their room. They destroyed appliances and light fixtures in the room while arguing. They threw these objects at each other. The cops made sure they left but they were not arrested. I understand it will be up to management what happens later.

In Canada they could be charged with mischief. The person who rented the room could be taken to small claims court by the hotel to get money back for damages.

I'm surprised that no one was arrested. Here in Utah if the people are fighting and the fight becomes physical, doesn't matter if no one was it it only matters that they threw stuff at each other they they should have been charge for domestic abuse.

Other than that they could HAVE be charged with many other things, however since they were not arrested they were not and most likely will not be charged. At this point it is up to the hotel management to pursue damage cost in civil court as the officers did not find anything criminal happened

The police came to break up a domestic disturbance call and no charges for arrest were made since sounds like they left. The hotel should have gone to the court or if at night gone to the sheriffs office and made out charges. As for the damage done this would be filed as a civil suit to recover loss of property.

Management can file charges with the Police, but if they did not arrest the people at the time of the incident they may feel that there was insufficient evidence, or they may consider it a civil matter and the cost of doing business!!

Management will have to file charges with the police.

Also, management may have to sue for the damages in civil court.
