Just two questions on due process:

-Should young people under the age of eighteen have the same due process rights as adults? Why or why not?

-Why is it important to assure procedural due process for people accused of serious crimes? How does protecting the rights for the accused also protect the rights of law-abiding citizens? Explain.

Thanks in advance!

How do I determine if a case is a function of the federal or state court system?

Second, how do I know whether a case falls under federal or state jurisdiction?

And lastly, what does it mean when they ask, "explain the differences between the jurisdiction and original venue for
each case?"

Thanks to all those who are willing to help me with these questions. I am trying to figure out a few cases and I am confused on these things. If you aren't willing to help, please don't answer the question. Thanks again!!!

These people are sick and depraved and they have an addiction that cannot be stopped.

Just look at the statistics. They do stuff like it over and over again. If you release them from prison, they will just go online again and repeat the behavior.

Keeping them in prison for life seems to be the only way to be sure that statutory rapists can NEVER do this again. It would keep teenagers safe.

What do you think?

I been there for two years. It has been a rought two years. I Have had a problem with attendence. And with the New attendence policy its unfair to employee because nothing is approve with the company anymore. They just don't care about you nor any of your family. It don't allow you to even have your sick time. And to call out you have to call a 1-800 associte hotline and then talk to your manager. Anyway every time I been out its due to medical or for my Child being sick. Right now in the pass week I had to take off 4 days bc of my illness and whatever I had my 5 month old daughter caught which isn't at all good. She tested positive with a virus called RSV and it could be deadly to her. So I have to take another week off from work to care for her. I have a doctors note for the time I was out and I now have a note for the time I am going to be out to care for my child. I called the 1-800 Associte hotline to call out and talk to my Supervisor and She told me I was fired due to attendance

He moved in with me and things just kind of got carried away. I never intended for this to be a serious relationship. He is very manipulative and he lies to me all of the time. I feel like he is taking advantage of me because he doesn't pay rent, uses my car and all of my things, comes and goes as he pleases, comes home drunk and under the influence of other things probably. Ant to top it all off I believe he has a warrant out for his arrest for a DUI that he never went to court for. I hope to not have to just call the police and end things that way because it seems a little extreme to me. Any suggestions?

Let's say your at a debate for gun control, and you are asking questions that are supposed to make the other side sound bad (this is for school). I need to ask a question that makes having lenient gun control sound bad

ex: Guns kill thousands of people each year, how would making the gun control laws more lenient help this?

luckily for me, i don't smoke cigs, weed, OR drink alcohol, but i was wondering this today after i heard two people next to me talking about it on the subway.
you can legally smoke cigs that cause CANCER at age 18.
you can legally drink alcohol at age 21.
you can never legally smoke weed.

the only reason weed is illegal is because of the fact it "messes with your brain/decisions" right? but from what i have heard weed just makes you calm down and laugh.

alcohol makes you to the point where you cant walk sometimes, DEFF. not drive, and sometimes get abusive. now a little alcohol is okay, but too much can lead to death wether you drive, or get toxic overdose.

has anyone died of weed? i don't think so.

what is everyone's opinion on this?

i don't do any, but these are good questions and points, eh?

I have good reason to beleive I just narrowly escaped a really bad situation. Although nervous as all get up I managed to get this creep, after many efforts, out of my house and then off my property. Keep in mind this guy I have met in the past and always thought him just a nice guy. But tonight all kinds of flags went up, and I was afraid how to handle the situation because I was alone with no one near by. This guy is suppose to deliver my meds as I am a cancer patient to boot. I am calling the pharmacy, but am getting the impression they aren't going to care even though he put his hands on me and appeared high. Eyes dialated, not his usual well groomed self, etc. Are there any suggestions of what I should do beyond going to his employers?? He tried my door and I'm sure of it. I'm really nervous and it's hard to type due to tears. That's how much he scared me. Police say that if he didn't commit an actual crime they can't do anything until he does. I'm open to suggestions
