Is there a certain distance that firearms must be kept from school property? Or is it from the actual school? What part under the constitution is this under?

I know that there are a few questions, but even one answer would be appreciated. Thanks!

Once upon a time, Federal law prohibited possession of firearms within 1000 feet of a school.

That law was declared unconstitutional about 10 years ago (U.S. v. Lopez).

Now, regulation of firearms near schools is governed solely by state law. Look up the law of your state for the answer.

It is local law. Some states ban guns from all school property. Some states allow those with Concealed Weapons Permits to carry their guns on school grounds and even into the class rooms.

Sometimes the state will allow guns on school property and the school itself will ban guns.

It's nothing to do with the constitution, it's local law.

So there are different distances depending on where you live.

Guns! Is that a testosertone thing? Why do you need guns anyway? People kill people, not the guns. Take selfdefense lessons, police don't even need to carry guns. Guns are made by man. Anything made by man is not good.
