Let's say your at a debate for gun control, and you are asking questions that are supposed to make the other side sound bad (this is for school). I need to ask a question that makes having lenient gun control sound bad

ex: Guns kill thousands of people each year, how would making the gun control laws more lenient help this?

I think you're up a creek without a paddle. Gun control won't take the guns out of the hands of criminals. It will just disarm good law abiding citizens who want to defend themselves.
"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government". I can't think of any good reason for taking away our 2nd amendment right.

How about... If gun control is going to save people from dying shouldn't we also pass laws that make shooting people against the law so these criminals will stop killing people too? (Answer. we already have laws against killing people) Oh so criminals don't care about those laws but you are expecting them to obey gun control laws? Hey just as long as the inocent victims can't defend themselves that is what is important right?!

Guns don't kill people - people with guns kill people. The problem is people, not guns. If owning a gun is made illegal only the criminals will have guns because criminals do not obey the laws.

If the gun control laws were less restrictive, there would be more armed citizens on the streets to deter, or defend against, armed crime.

Any attempt at gun control will just limit the guns to the police and criminals.

It's been proven many times over that more gun control does not equal less crime (washington D.C, New York...etc) and allowing law abiding citzens to carry firearms in public does not equal more crime (Florida, Texas...etc)
