We all have the right to defend ourselves. I can understand why the U.S does not want WMD's in the wrong hands.
But surely if you want to rid a country of neclear weapons you should set an example...

A friend of mine that is a graduate in my current school (laguardia community college) has gotten a letter in the mail stating that laguardia has "lost" personal information (social security numbers/addresses/names) in the mail. I dont know what this means, but what is the worst that can happen? How can I check if I'm safe? Is the school responsible on contacting every student that is in danger because of this? I didn't get a letter.
I dont own a credit card.

My neighbor has 2 pit bulls that he lets roam all over our street (rural Texas=no leash laws).Chase people walking (has chased my husband, me and my 6 and 9 year olds down the road in front of our house), horse riders and other animals. One dog is nice, the other is very aggressive and has come up to my back porch and attacked my cocker spaniel with my kids only 5 feet away, and the owner had to physically remove his dog from my property. I have called police numerous times and they say i have the right to shoot the dogs if i feel threatened, but I hesitate to do this, as the owner is very violent. The dog chased my sister in my yard today and my brother told the owner (who watched the whole thing) that he was going to shoot the dog, and the owner started screaming that he would kill all of my dogs and that he would kill my brother as well. we called the police and all they did is go talk to him and tell us to shoot the dog. Can I sue this man or do I not have any rights at all?

If a job requires you to be bonded, (fidelity bond) can you be bonded for a dismissed shoplifting charge from 20 years ago that was erased? Would the bonding company and/or employer find out about the erased charge? Also, if a question asks if you have ever been arrested can you answer no, if it was erased?

I recently got into a car accident and the person that hit me left, came back after 5 minutes then exchanged information. He must have came back because his license plate fell on the ground when he crashed into me. Is that still considered a hit and run since he left?

last Saturday, my friend drove to Point Roberts, WA from Vancouver to pick up a package. Due to long waiting line inside the delivery center, she could not find a vacancy and had to park on side way for about 40 minutes. When she returned to her car, a $140 police parking ticket showed up. She is wandering if she really need to pay the parking ticket? what's the consequence for not paying it? thanks

A friend of mine and I work at a restaurant that we can tell is going under. In the month and a half I have worked there I have only received cash as payment and I am sure it was not enough. They do everything manually, with handwritten time cards and handwritten everything else. I am sure that they have not filed with the IRS for me because they have not requested a W-2 form. So I do not believe they are even taxing my wages. My friend has worked there 2 months and only received 2 paychecks. Only one was actually a check though. Employees are walking out left and right and our employer is avoiding us completely. We all want our wages though. Is their a legal way to get us all together in a class action suit against our employer to force him to pay us?

My mom is being charged with a felony, 1st degree with residental burglery and breaking in an entry.. Her court-appointed pressured her into to pleaing gulity and yelled at her and called her names and told her she had no other choice but to take it and told her not to tell anyone the info she found out cause it would make the case worse. What she found out was the person who was pressing charges against her didn't even own the house and the people who did own the house would testify against the people charging my mom. What it was was my moms friend told her she could have a wicker basket (worth $10 in the rain) and when she took it they called the cops on her. So my mom believed the lawyer and pleaded guilty. Can she change her plea to not guilty cause she hasn't got sentencd yet? And do you think the judge will grant her request? Thankyou..

I’m sure this has happened before, it seems like it would be the perfect way to get beer and cigarettes if you’re underage. I mean think about it, would you ask a Muslim woman to take off her vale? I imagine its 50 50, and if they were underage all they have to say is its against my beliefs to show my face in public and walk away without getting in trouble!!!

My partner and I are to give a mock debate on a heated issue

The topic: a teacher encoraged his HS students to participate in a walkout to protest the Iraq War. While we do not know much about this situation, we were told that the teacher contacted the District and told them that he was going to be absent. We also know that this teacher joined his students at the Walk Out.

My partner is taking the side of the School Board who's intent is to FIRE The offending teacher. My job is on the Teacher's Union - to protect the Teacher and keep him or her working in the schools.

Do you have any suggestions? What do I need to know in order to defend this teacher?
