last Saturday, my friend drove to Point Roberts, WA from Vancouver to pick up a package. Due to long waiting line inside the delivery center, she could not find a vacancy and had to park on side way for about 40 minutes. When she returned to her car, a $140 police parking ticket showed up. She is wandering if she really need to pay the parking ticket? what's the consequence for not paying it? thanks

If she doesn't pay it it will get bigger and bigger and bigger and then when she tries to renew her registration she won't be able to. If the car is in her name then, eventually, they will suspend her drivers license.

if a ticket has been issued fining your friend she has to either pay the fine or go to court.

Why wouldn't she have to pay it?
