If a job requires you to be bonded, (fidelity bond) can you be bonded for a dismissed shoplifting charge from 20 years ago that was erased? Would the bonding company and/or employer find out about the erased charge? Also, if a question asks if you have ever been arrested can you answer no, if it was erased?

If you are caught lying, you will lose the fidelity bond and be branded as a liar. Best to own up to your mistakes.

Charges cannot be erased. Just tell the truth.
