basically look at guantanamo bay , they can hold people for as long as they want without charge . many americans would say thats rubbish thats just for the "terrorists" but in reality its the same for everyone , but then the average american will say (im not a terrorist what have i got to hide) well i say to those people you were given those rights for good reason there being eroded and your doing nothing about it .

heres alberto gonzales informing of how american people have no express right to habeas corpeus (no due process).

it depends on different things and where you are located. Criminals can be held longer in different places. The criminals at Guantanamo Bay have been held for some time but they're not in America.
Funny how a lot of people don't know where Guantanamo is and think it's in America.
What did you do?

That depends on if it was a state crime or a federal crime, it also depends on what kind of crime it was and it also depends on if you were in the the military or not.
