Yes. Our Government is getting out of hand. It states in the 2nd Amendment that citizens have the right to bear arms. Incase the Government gets out of hand. The people can take over. Anyone game? I think it might be about time. Things will only get worse and not better. The Government has taken many rights from us.

If it's merely a form of protest, I would say you'd be doing more harm than good, as you'd be trying to bring the fence-sitters (on whatever issue has you up in arms) to your side.

Now, if it's a matter of defense... say, a dictatorial regime emerges from what was left of a constitutional republic (by the way, the U.S. has never been a democracy... that'd merely be mob rule), then I'd say it could be warranted. Of course, the problem then is getting enough people to accept the risk of taking up arms against a far better equipped ruling class and their enforcers.

The United States would not exist without violence being possible. However, it should oonly be used "after a string of abuses" and such. Read the declaration of independence. i believe in it wholly and you will find your answer in there. On the other hand- it has to be a legitimate reason and i dont know how to determine if one is actually justified. Maybe read Aquinas and his work on law. it will tell you the perameters of governmental power

Yes, in overthrowing dictatorships. If you're in democracy, the population has elected the government and has no business protesting violently. However, in a dictatorship the governemnt is in place without the people's will (in most cases), and they are therefore justified in removing the threat to freedom no matter how.
