I recently was let go from a part-time, seasonal, sales associate posistion at Hallmark. Three weeks after working there, they said, I looked like I didnt want to be there, that my heart wasnt in the job. I told them they were wrong, that I did like working there because of the atmosphere. One manager said I had an attitude problem, yet I have never worked with her because she works mornings and I work evenings. The other manager didnt think I had an attitude and she should know since I have worked with her, although she claims I never approach the customers. I reminded them I sold 6 Precious Moments figurines on my first day and I knew where every card was when they were testing me during training, something they claimed hasnt happened for a long time. But they still let me go and decided to keep two girls who to this day still ask questions on how to do everything. Now, the only people working there are females. I get the feeling I was fired for being a guy...am I wrong?

I passed my driving test in 2004, lost it for 2 speeding offences in 2006, each 3 points - (the law states that if you get 6 points within the first 2 years, you have to reapply for provisional etc...) - so i passed my test again in 2006. On the back of my new driving licence, it says 2004 as the pass date -how long do I tell my insurance company i've had my licence?? 1 year or 3?

Recently lethal injections were halted while the courts debate whether convicts suffer during the last few minutes of their lives. I tend to concern myself with how the victims were often made to suffer at the hands of some of these monsters. A clinical injection seems already more humane than they deserve. Am I off base here?

The youth of today have no respect for anything or anybody and I think it is because they fear no punishment in a country ruined by 50 years of liberalism.
I also think the police should also be allowed to give them a good whack, if they ask for it, with no fear of prosecution

(UK)New neighbours moved in last year and since they have, I have continued to receive his business mail for his construction company at my address(none of his personal mail though). Not just receiving it at my address by accident, it is actually addressed to my address. I have asked them on numerous occasions to correct this as my home is not a business. It is still carrying on, and I worry that if his company gets into financial difficulties, it will be my address that they would turn up looking for money! I have been sending the mail "Return to sender, not known at this address for a while now, but the mail continues to arrive. I don't know who to turn to about this but don't wish to fall out with them about it. I need it to stop though, and having just recently become a widow at 43years, it is just another problem in my life to add to my distress. Does anyone know who or where I can turn to about this?

I'm originally from Oregon and in the past year they passed a law to ban smoking in all public places, restricting places that you would expect to smoke (sports bars and the like).

Would you consider this the first of many of Big Brother forcing it's rules down our throat and cutting off our freedoms?

Personally I don't smoke but I just don't want to be the one who’s left saying, “First they came for the smokers, and I didn't speak up, because I wasn't a smoker. Then they came for the drinkers, and I didn't speak up, because I wasn't a drinker. Then they came for gamblers, and I didn't speak up, because I wasn't a gambler. Then they came for me, and by that time there was no one left to speak up for me.”

As a smoker I accept that it may cause me harm, and possibly to others around me. Therefore I accept the fascist anti-smoking legislation we now have.

My question really is why only smoking?

How many people have been killed or injured by someone driving under the influence of tobacco?

Or been beaten up or worse because someone had one too many cigarettes and became violent?

Do we not need rather more control over drinking habits, and not just smoking?

I started a new job a week ago, interview was 5 min no reference checks . I was suppose to fill out all these forms ie. Tax forms ect. They wouldn't let me sign them( I thought that had to be done once you are hired) This is a surgeons office that i was working in. they said i was doing great!. So today i get called to go talk to the doctor and he said that its not working out because we think you are on drugs! I don't do drugs or drink. My free time is spent with my family and kids I phoned back asking for more answers and they told me that i got the job in the first place cause i was the only one with the most medical experience but then they recieved a new resume from someone with more experience and thats why they let me go. They knew i quit my other job to come there and they made sure i did. I know you can terminate before 3mths without notice, just looking for any help regarding the drug thing and letting me go cuz they got someone better. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

As a joint executor on my grandfathers estate, am I liable to pay any debts outstanding out of my own funds? This would be under English Law. I have a concern that the Pensions Agency may be attempting to reclaim any benefit which may have been overpaid, and the funds left by my granfather may not be sufficient enough to do this. Any advice would be appreciated!

I have a misdemeanor for petty theft and currently live in Stockton Ca. I am so angry at myself and am very frustrated because I can't get a job to save my life. I have had so many doors slammed in my face, that's it's not funny and some temp agencies that I want to apply at (due o the companies they service) said that I can't even apply if I have a misd. for petty theft and how they only want the "highest quality" employees to offer to their clients. Made me feel like sh!t. I've had jobs my entire life and granted I did make a kid mistake at the age of 23, however I had no representation, I just plead guilty and they gave me 3 years of probation and made me pay $310.00 for taking 25.00 worth of food for my family. We were doing bad at the time. I've never done anything like this in my life and now employers wont even look at my resume. Nobody seems to want to help me as far as programs for employment, public defenders are not helping me, should I get a lawyer, would it be worth it?

They blame the "corrupt, zionist Jews" for everything.

Last time I checked, there were 41 Muslim countries and only one Jewish country.

I honestly do not see why they just do not leave Israel alone. I could see if they did not have a country... but they have many. While the Jews have been kicked out of almost every Muslim and only have Israel to go to.

I made the unwise decision to put a friend on my cell phone plan. He put two phones on the plan, one for himself and one for his girlfriend. When we made the agreemenet, I had him sign a paper saying that he would pay. He is now six days late and evidentally has no plan to pay.
In the paper he signed, he agreed to be responsible for his two lines until the end of the contract in 2009. In order to cancel his lines, it will cost $200 per line. I am hoping to take him to court for the cancelation fees as well as two months worth of service. Is it really worth my time to take him to court?

About 25 years ago I was a night clerk at a gas station. A guy came in to rob me at gun point and suddenly, right in the middle of the robbery, turned and ran away! He didn't wait for the money or anything. There was no one there but me. I have never understood this. I was only 25, a woman and he was a young guy who was stronger than me and larger. I just don't understand why he ran and neither did the police but we had it on tape? Any ideas??? He was wearing mask and they never caught him.

These may include such groups as Scientology, Religious Extremist 's, Satanist's, etc : Should Government 'spy' on such groups , or would it be another Waco in the making. Especially keep tabs on websites such as Y! Answers, because they may instill and promote recruitment of their ideologies and philosophies and create 'cell' groups that increase in size and members. Is this violating rights??
