Is there any laws saying you can't own two different types of franchises? Where could I find out answers?
Thank you---

Drunk driving is such an unexplainable epidemic in our world today. Some of you who are reading my question may have fell victim to a loved one who was killed by a drunk driver or may have known someone who was. Well, I have and it hurts deeply. Especially to know that someone made a careless decision to drive under the influence. It almost make you think this person meant to get on the road to drive and didn't care if someone's life was in danger. The death rates are pretty high due to the cause of drunk driving. My question is, would it even be possible (regardless of those whom consume alcohol) for a president or anyone in charge to just shut down any, all and every company(ies) that produces alcohol? If so, at least the highways would be a bit safer. Please answer this question with all due respect.

When my cousin was 16 she was living with relatives and was home when their house was gutted by a fire. A week later they found an empty charcoal lighter fluid bottle with 2 of her fingerprints on it, as well as several other smeared finger prints that they could not identify as hers. She denied she was the one who started the fire, and I believe her, but due to being the only one there (was sick in bed,) they are “positive“ she did it even though she nearly burned in her bedroom on the second story. I went to her trial and even read the trials document word for word. All they had was those fingerprints on the bottle, yet they did not even know what flammable liquid was used. What is more is it was a standard plastic one which they found out of the way of where the fire started (she is smart, so why wouldn‘t she have burned it?) plus the area in which they said it started and was spread is a larger area then that bottle alone could have covered. Her relatives were an uncle and his wife she had been living with for a year. Her Uncle was a deputy Sheriff while she had been a Sheriff explorer, which is basically like boy/girl scouts for law enforcement. What is more a few months before the fires they had had an insurance agent asses the value of the property inside, and then about a week and a half before the fire, there had been a different one she had not been home for. It just caused a lot of smoke damage so clothing etc were all sent to cleaners, except a work/school weeks worth of clothing and pillows/sheets (summer.) Not long after they had insurance on their place they had a garage sale and sold most of the valuable stuff, saying they wanted to get newer things since they had all just moved there a year ago. In the trial her relatives had said they lost everything, but my cousin remembers helping them go through things that were just fine, or weren’t even there due to being sold, the week before she was arrested. Also she since she was 16 she was being tried as a juvenile. When they brought her in to “ask” her questions and told her they would just read her, her rights due to having to with everyone who comes in to be talked to. Her relatives had not been her legal guardian yet, and they did not notify her guardian, nor did they bring an attorney into the actual interrogation (“questioning”,) while asking her questions. Before they even had her fingerprints to try and match the ones on the bottle they began accusing her of this and even handcuffed her to chain at her feet. Of course she was found guilty of felony arson with a LARGE restitution that is unlikely to ever be fully paid in her lifetime. She was given 8 years (back in 2001 around 9/11,) and committed to a youth authority. After having been in custody for 1 ½ years (up for juvenile parole in another 1 ½,) she had a talk with her therapist in there who believed in her innocence. Her therapist told her that anyone here is not “innocent,” and unless she “admits” her guilt and jumps through all the hoops they want her to, she will spend her whole 8 years there. So she “admitted” her guilt and after serving over 3 years she was paroled. Now understand my cousin was a good girl, she has had a hard life, but was very positive about her future getting nearly straight A’s and doing after school activities. She is now in her early 20’s and due to her high restitution she will not be able to get her records sealed, nor be released off of parole till 25, even though if she had no restitution she would have been able to be let go due to good behavior. She had been a model inmate, and is now a model parolee. Is there anything she can do to get her named cleared, or get a new trial? She is on a very low-income and there is no one who had enough money to help her with a real attorney. Also she still has almost 3 years of parole left. How did they find her guilty with no real evidence, only circumstantial?

contracts act 1950 is silent on the question of intention to create legal relations as an essential element forming a valid contract. however, it is a trite law in England that it is a condition to form a valid contract. In view of the above, explain:

1. the importance of its existence in a contract.
2. the arising presumptions from the two situations i.e social, family or other domestic agreements and commercial agreement.

Every payday my boss will not issue my paycheck until the bank has closed it's books for the day so I will have to wait until the next banking day. He leaves without paying then calls later in the day to tell me he "forgot" and that I can get it off of his desk.

I have a Class 1 Misdemeanor that will be Dismissed next April. I was never arrested, but showed up on an arrest report for charges differnt than mine, "obscene calls" -- basically, I left my Ex have it, and she filed charges. They will be dropped next year. Will this impede me from getting a DHS clearance? Or ever a Top Secret w/ Poly?

I was curious, my crazy ex showed me a police report involving someone really close to me to sabbatoge the relationship. Was he allowed to do that? What are the police ethics. Can they do back ground checks on your spouse for no reason? Can they run a plate from a car that sits in front of your house? Or would it be consider harrassment and an invasion of privacy? Also, what can happen if a cop is slandering you? My ex is a control freak and makes my life hell!!! Advice on how to deal with him please.

Maybe a nice little rainbow. Why not? It's not a religiously oriented phrase, and the majority of the nation IS gay friendly.

Sure, some people will scream about it, but they can just "get over it" and "deal with it", or use debit cards from now on (which are sloganless). After all...they've already got their own slogan making claims that all citizens believe in invisible sky fairies.

So...would you support this?

O.k, I know that selling them is. How about this though?

I sell a piece of candy for 5 bucks and with your purchase you get a free CD?

I looked into the laws and it said that you can give a burned Cd away.

I know its not the most honest thing to do, but is it illegal?

I already asked this question, but nobody really knew. If it isn't, what is the chances that someone would get caught? What is the average Juvi time for a minor?

OK, so me and my friend were walking home from school, we were walking properly on the sidewalk and reach a driveway of a coffee shop, there is a car pulled up blocking half the sidewalk waiting for a break in traffic to pull in (like everyone does), so we slow down and look both ways and see there is no break for her to pull in, and she is get this...STARING right in front out the windshield, right at us..so we asume its safe and pass infront on the other half of the sidewalk...while walking in front of her car she lets go of her break (slight incline) and starts rolling into the street...she hits my leg and my friends leg and wrist (she's shorter) we yelled "hey stop" while we were running into the road and ahead to get out of the way JUST as we get out of the way she applies the gas (we would have been in trouble if we got out of the way any later), she realized what she was doing and yelled out the window "oh sorry" and continues driving without stopping to see if we are OK.

Hypothetical situation. Lets say I have a contract with someone that i loaned money to and charged an interest rate that was at the state maximum...for this situation lets say 29%. The judge knows he has to award me the judgement but scolds me for charging such a high interest rate. I get mad at the scolding and say "Oh yeah well you gotta award me the money and there aint nothing you can do about it." The judge then decides that since I was a smart alec he is going to order that the defendant doesnt have to pay me a penny.

If a judge abuses his power like this, what could someone do?
