With all the time spent on all the protests and that idiot rev.al running around yammering ,all the protestors around the country had to do was each put a dollar in a hat and the poor kid would have been out of jail long ago. Why didn't they just do that? What was all the need to protest something that really wasn't there?

My daughter aged 23 has learning difficulties but holds down a job as a domestic/laundry assistant in a nursing home. She works 6 days a week but quite often her day off is cancelled because of someone else's holiday, sickness, etc. She doesn't know how to say anything about it or how to question it, so she often works 12 or 13 days in a row before she eventually gets a day off. Is there any legislation about this?

If both parents are willing to go through with the change in custody can you just go to some court and sign paperwork and have it done? This is between two different states also. Thanks.

Hello,
I had a bad relationship that haunts me to this day.I was with a girl for 4 1/2 years and it was always shaky. We met when I was 17 and she was 16(six months apart) we joined the army together when I was 19 and her 18. Well after a year of training we both got back to our MN arng units. We got a place
I ahad saved all my money and also made alot of gem investments in my fathers company. Well it was subtle at first but at every turn she would supersupcede me.Like my father sending us $1000 to purchase a beater car,She stole my other car and crashed it while on break in her military uniform/
I told her not to drive it to work and just bus like we have been doing because we diddn't have insurance.Well we got the thousand and she was to pay and then be rembursed when the check clears. We went car hunting and she found one put it in her name(I would have it in both our names) and pocketed the money,I was out a grand and she keeps the car? Continues....

There is a government program known as Unicor, which apparently is a for-profit contractor in using cheap labor in prisons for a variety of products. This is the 21st century version of what was so offensive to Ashley in "Gone With the Wind." They are paid less than a dollar an hour, and still have to pay part of their room and board costs in the prison.

He never asked permission to go to the backyard and took pics. I live in Nassau county NY. Had some work done but only replaced the existing cement patio and retaining wall on the backyard which both were crumbling and was a hazard. as far as i know that is not a violation and doesn't need a permit to redo.

Say I need a securities lawyer and don't know anyone who can refer one to me. How can I find a decent lawyer? Picking one randomly sounds like a stupid idea, but I'm not quite sure what other choice I have.

Are there any resources on the Internet I can turn to?

We had a discussion about this at the Ethical Society forum this morning. The ironic thing is that using prisoners as cheap labor was outlawed early in the 20th century. Here's what the 21st century is doing: http://www.unicor.gov/

My boyfriend quit his job back in August. He has had several interviews and one of the jobs gave him a call back until they got the results from the background check. My BF has a trespassing petty misdemeanor (dismissed) and a fireworks misdemeanor on his record from 2005. Can these types of misdemeanors be preventing him from getting a job???

If a woman knowingly exposes her fetus to drugs/alcohol/any harmful substances, should she be prosecuted in the criminal justice system?

This is an issue actually being considered right now. These substances can cause physical harm, birth defects, and addiction in the baby when it is born. I just wanted to see everyone's opinions.

I appreciate all answers and hope for a link maybe to a page that can further explain how these things work. I would like to educate myself on this incase something should happen in the future between us.

i got charged with a reckless driving off roads ticket. i was on a dangerous street (drivebys, shootings, etc) and took a wrong turn so i wanted to turn around. my friend and i turned onto what we thought was a street, but it was really a wide sidewalk to a park, but there was no elevation or grass on the edge of the street. mind you, it was pitch black and no lights. my two front tires go into a ditch in front of a pond (it just looked like new pavement, even the tow tuck dirver didnt see it and thought the sidewalk was a street). 7 cop cars come zooming, take my friend and start askin him where I got my car (they thought it was stolen. i'm 19, Black, and drive an 07 lexus). the other cop comes because he thinks "it's funny". they sobriety test me (i told them i had 1 beer 1-1.5 hr before, which was true), i pass, didnt breathlize me, and let me drive home after i got the ticket. i havta go to court. what shud i plead? i dont mind paying a fine, just dont want the record.
