If you have let a relative live in your garage for several years as an act of charity, with no money changing hands between you, can they be asked to leave, or made to leave, without going through the entire legal eviction process?
Any details you care to add -- such as how short eviction under this circumstance can be, if it is in fact necessary -- will be appreciated.

He is going to file contept of court on her for not letting him see the child on his weekends that were agreed to in the origional divorce papers. So would the dad file in Georgia or would he have to file in Alabama since the child has lived there for over 6 months now?

I resigned with 2 weeks notice to my employer, but my employer is threatening to sue me in civil court, because he claims that I needed to give him more notice than that [because I am an essential employee according to him, the reason for resignation was poor working condition such as improper lighting, smoking indoors, and bad office politics; all of which I had complaint about to him (and other director) ]. My two weeks are not over yet, and he has suffered no damage what-so-ever, and instead of looking for a replacement for me and this other woman who quit the very next day, all he is doing is wasting his time looking for a lawyer. I have already offered to co-operate with him to the extent allowable [under new employment contract, and my own time constraints] for the period of 3 months to help in transition. I have at least one week of unclaimed vacation in this year. And I have only taken 2 weeks off in past 6 years. And one of the director has taken 5 weeks off this year alone.

My lawn looks terrible with brown patches all over. During this past season they have been out here applying what they say is best for the lawn. Finally I called them and told then that the lawn looks terrible. They told me it has what they call leaf patch. A month or two later I called again because it got worse. They then told me it was because my lawn has chinch bugs. My whole point to them was this: If I pay a company for lawn service, I expect to have good results. If along the way, they see theres a bug problem, why didnt they take care of it to avoid further distress? I use this example. You go to a dentist for a cleaning, he does what is routine and nothing more. You then tell him you have a toothache. He now tells you, that you have cavities. Well, a professional would clearly tell you what they found other than the routine visit. So the same applies here. They came out and sprayed but never saw the problem. I feel I should have a whole new lawn from them now. what do you think

Yesterday afternoon, my aunt, who is disabled, got hit by a car. She was crossing under the light where she's supposed to, at the time she started to cross, she had the green light, however, she walks with a walker and was unable to make it all the way to the other side, a car, comes flying around the corner and hit her, she now has a crushed walker, and a broken shoulder along with other cuts and bruises. My question is, can she sue them for at least her medical expenses? I understand the car had the green light, but if you clearly see someone attempting to make it across the street you can't just hit them to get them out of the way! Any advice is appreciated.

Okay, my husband got busted with less than 1 gram of cocaine (a felony) back in 1999 when he was barely 18 years old and recieved Deferred Adjudication. He got off of his probation over 3 years ago and did not have to do any time. He was never convicted of anything and other than this, he has never gotten into any trouble with the law. He can get an Order of Non-Discloser in about another year and a half. I know that he can not own a gun but I want one for my home for self defense and to protect my family. I have no criminal record at all, not even a traffic ticket. Would I be albe to get a gun even though my husband has a little bit of a past? What is the processof getting a gun here in Texas? I am wanting either a 22 or a 25.

I applied for a postion that I have over 4 years of experience in. The interview went well (one of the managers said that I would be a perfect fit for their team). She told me someone will call or email to tell me the next step. Well I am pregnant and I let them know that. I recieved an email stating ..."At this time, we are unable to offer you a position." They are holding another job fair next week. IS this discrimination?

The article said that government should lower the legal age for prosecuting youths as adults, saying: "black males age 13 who have been raised on the streets and who have joined criminal gangs are as big, strong, tough, scary and culpable as any adult and should be treated as such." The newsletter also said, "only about 5 percent of blacks have sensible political opinions," "If you have ever been robbed by a black teen-aged male, you know how unbelievably fleet-footed they can be," and, "95 percent of the black males in Washington, D.C. are semi-criminal or entirely criminal."[57]

There is a fairly obscure band that I know of, and a non-band related person put some of their music up on the web. Both the band and the record company that recorded their music are long gone, without even contact information to the owners. I know I could get away with downloading these songs, but just for my own comfort, I would like to know if it's legal or not.

The moderator at Columbia university claimed that Iranian women didn't even have "basic" rights in Iran, to which the Iranian President replied that they were active in all sectors of Iranian society, which is true: Consider this

1) 60% of university students in Iran are women
2) Iranian women have the right to vote and hold public office
3) They can drive ( unlike in Saudi Arabia)
4) They can work and compete for any job with men
5) They serve in the police and security forces
6) They can and do own businesses
7) They are highly visible in the media and arts
8) Iranian law is very severe to violence/harassment of women
9) They are entitled to receive a dowry from their husband upon marrying him

The only matters that are unresolved in Iran regard interpretation of Islamic law on civil affairs such as divorce & inheritance: Here, Iran has not pandered to Western moral decadence. Women cannot break up families as easily as in the West which has led to such social havoc

Well, I'm 17, and my girlfriend is 14.
I turn 18 in May, 08, and she's 15 in Dec. 07.
We live in Florida

Anyway, I've been hearing some things that in Florida, the age limit is within 4 years, well, what if one is over 18?
What if we were dating before I was 18?
Is that really the law in Florida?
Should we splint and find someone else?

Well, it seems we really do, truly love each other, and sex hasn't even been involved.
I'm not the first 17 year old she dated, and She's not the first 14 year old I dated.

Any help at all would be really great, thanks.
