I'm pretty sure you can sue them for discrimination, it's just that you would probably need a tape recording and/or an eye witness or other persons who were discriminated against or an employee or ex-employee there to testify. As far as the comment, you just have to see the comical side of them. If you want to read up on Emotional Intelligence, on my profile, it will help a lot in all you do. Scientists say that most people have the emotional intelligence of a child, so what can you expect. Don't you be among them, read up. love

Learn the language and you may be able to help your friend, who is probably an illegal. You are obviously not from America, and it is most irritating that you have the gall to try and tell Americans how to run their country, learn to live here and keep your mouth shut until you become a CITIZEN, then you can gripe all you wish.

If the person was really that stupid it is possible that they said something that might be against the law. Would someone really wish to work for someone that was that big of a jerk. It is probably better to find somewhere else. That has to be a very rare example.

Funny, I've only heard non-Americans argue that "America" shouldn't be called "America" because of the North and South America thing. Which still makes no sense to me!

First. I can barely understand your question.
If your "friend" spoke the way you write, I can understand the interviewer's attitude.
Next, how do you expect someone to react when you contradict them.
And finally, in these tumultuous times, if you mention "your country", and you are NOT speaking of the USA, then you are Immediately suspect, in your intentions.
AND in my OPINION if the United States of America is not "YOUR COUNTRY" the go back HOME

There is no law against being a Jerk.
There is no law preventing someone from calling you or your friend a loser. You can call them a loser, if you want.
Be happy your friend already knows which one the loser is. Find her another job.

If she can prove that the only reason she did not get the job was because he discriminated against her on the basis of her national origin, maybe.
But that is very hard to prove.
