polygamy is illegal.
step-parenting is not.
it is hard for the kids to be transported between multiple houses...but polygamy and remarriage are two separate issues.

There are several reasons for this, and all of them involve the state's interest(s) in both marriage and children.
1. will the child become a ward of the state or a welfare concern? With divorce, it is less likely because the child has 2 (or even 3) options. With polygamous marriages, there is only a single home for the child, and if that fails, there is no "fall-back position".
2. will the numerous spouses become wards of the state at the death of the single husband? Probably! Polygamous households are incredibly expensive to maintain, and it is rare that any of the wives hold jobs or have the education necessary to get one at the death of the husband. Also, they don't have work experience.
These are only two of the state's concerns, and by no means show the full spectrum of concerns that the stay may have in such a situation.

A polygamous relationship is illegal. remarrying is not the two are way to different things and should not be compared. Polygamous marriage is more than one wife or husband. However in divorce one husband or wife bites the dust and another 1 is added but only one not two. Raising children where they can clearly see a violation of the law will cause them to see violating the law is okay so then they will be programed to be law violators. Well at least that's what society says.

You know, Diversity has a plethora of meanings, including beastiality, child marriages, plural marriges etc... and most of them are bad for everybody involved.... There Is a difference in Plural marriages, bigamy and polygamy in most states and is tribal at best, done in secret and IS Illegal. Ask Warren Jeffs. . In most divorce cases the Mother is left to fend for herself and children alone.
No woman or child should be in an abusive relationship, physically or emothionally! Most Dead Beat Dads are just that and pay no attention to their children nor pay child support for them. Better to Live Alone with your children safe

It's the polygamy that is illegal not the raising of the children. Polygamy is having more than one legal wife at the same time. Adults who divorce & remarry still only have 1 legal wife at a time.

Step parents should be illegal. Simply because in most wedding ceremonies there is the phrase "till death do us part" so these children should be orphans not part of a divorce.
