i got charged with a reckless driving off roads ticket. i was on a dangerous street (drivebys, shootings, etc) and took a wrong turn so i wanted to turn around. my friend and i turned onto what we thought was a street, but it was really a wide sidewalk to a park, but there was no elevation or grass on the edge of the street. mind you, it was pitch black and no lights. my two front tires go into a ditch in front of a pond (it just looked like new pavement, even the tow tuck dirver didnt see it and thought the sidewalk was a street). 7 cop cars come zooming, take my friend and start askin him where I got my car (they thought it was stolen. i'm 19, Black, and drive an 07 lexus). the other cop comes because he thinks "it's funny". they sobriety test me (i told them i had 1 beer 1-1.5 hr before, which was true), i pass, didnt breathlize me, and let me drive home after i got the ticket. i havta go to court. what shud i plead? i dont mind paying a fine, just dont want the record.

Get a good lawyer and get enough evidence, take photos of the scene, interview witnesses, etc.

If you can afford to drive a 07 Lexus, you can afford an attorney.

Go see one.

Take photos of the scene by day and night. Collect as many names as you can. It may be that you were "careless" and not "reckless." It may also be that the city was negligent in maintaining the roadway. But be careful with trying to “switch blame” to the city. Your attorney can explain the pitfalls of that scenario.

You shouldn't plead to this one without first getting an attorney. Give the attorney the name of the towing company & the driver, as well as the name of your passenger. Bring the ticket with you to the consultation. Also, take photographs of the "sidewalk". Go see an attorney.

you need to have hit the vehicle in front of you with countless rigidity to be charged with reckless applying following to close or failure to surrender may well be the common quotation below the situations you defined. purely pass to courtroom, plead no longer accountable and then consult from the prosecuting criminal expert, they'll possibly grant a lessor value, clarify the placement and admit you hit the vehicle in front of you yet which you do no longer sense that rises to the point of reckless applying.
