Areb you married to your ex-partner? If you are you can have his name on the birth certificate whether he likes it or not. If you aren't married then the only way to get his name on the birth certificate is for him to go with you - even couples who both want the father's name on the birth cert can't have it unless the father is there.
If you were to sue your ex for maintenance payments the court might force him to take a DNA test, I am fairly sure that they wouldn't force him to have his name on the birth certificate though.

You cannot compel him to take a DNA test, but you can still put his name on your sons birth certificate and he can't stop you. If he tries to disclaim that he is the father of your son, then tell him to take a DNA test to prove that he isn't.

You need a Court Order. Your own honour is also at stake here. If your ex-partner he says the baby is not his, he is saying that you were sleeping with someone else. If that is the case I would have thought he would want to get the matter settled once and for all

Your son will not care who he was in the future. .. He does not have to do the DNA... He does not have to have his name on the birth certificate to prove that your son is an American Citizen..
Isn't that why you call him the XXX-Partner... .
Is he x-partner number 6 or 7....

I'm unsure what your local statutes are in relation to this.
Law permitting, I would state him as the father and if he wishes to disprove it he can do so by having a DNA test done.

take him to court. Men make me sick, they want the sex but not the consequences. Most older guys do not even use condoms. You know what I hate.? Ugly guys who corner good looking girls and convince them they need to have sex. Thank God i don't have men on my mind at the moment.

Maybe he's avoiding having any formal comittment i.e financial etc. Ask him the real reason. If he is definitely the father can't you just put him on it?

As you want to "Compel," him, let me make this suggestion.
When he's asleep, tie his legs and arms to the bed. Lean over him with an electrified cattle prod and prod him until he agrees. I can assure you that he will be "Compelled," to agree to the DNA test.
Well, that's what I did, and it worked
