Nice try. Under Texas law, every child is entitled to a father. You cannot sign away your parental rights in order to avoid paying child support. It does not work that way. You can only sign away your rights if there is another man willing to adopt the child, or if you are found by a court to be unfit for parenting your parental rights might be taken away from you by the court.
After your parental rights have been terminated, you no longer have any rights to the child, and you do not have to pay child support.

When you say you want to "sign over" your parental rights, you are actually giving up all rights to being that child's parent in the eyes of the law. you no longer have the priviledge of having that child and on the flip side (as you have mentioned) you will no longer have the financial responsibility for their care either. Hopefully, you will write a letter or communicate the reason why you made that decision to your child so they can find closure and acceptance with your obvious and painful rejection of them, your own flesh and blood. Good Luck!

Actually no, you would not have to pay child support on that child. My father had went to jail and was still obligated to pay and they gave him the option of having it eventually collected from him if he owed too much, or he can terminate his rights to me to get out of having to pay. For those who judge here you do not understand this persons circumstances or real reasons. This world isn't black and white, there are always shades of gray inbetween.

Your parental rights must be completely terminated, making your child eligible to be adopted by a new father/mother (whichever you are), before you are relieved of your responsibility to financially support your child.
