Hammurabi's code "an eye for eye, tooth for a tooth, a life for a life"

Frank Carrington (1978) claims common sense supports the inference that if, the threat of the death penalty decreases, the rate of murders increases than it may be true. But if the threat had increased, the homicide rate may decrease.

my quote is this
you kill and violate the santity of life then your life should be taken and in the same manner as the life you took.

Justice Stewart held in the Supreme Court in Gregg v. Georgia:
Although some of the studies suggest that the death
penalty may not function as a significantly greater
deterrent than lesser penalties, there is no convincing
empirical evidence supporting or refuting this view.

I am in favor of death penalty as long as DNA is used to prove that the person truly committed the crime. However If the states abolish the death penalty they need to get the names of all the lobbiers and when the time comes they need to open their homes to the rapist, killers, etc... I believe that will wake them up to the real issue of why we have the death penalty.

No. But I have a rebuttal for the Bible quotes. You should always be prepared for the other side of the arguement. The New Testament says to "Turn the other cheek" and Gandhi said "An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind."

Hamlet's "To be or not to be, that is the question" is a quote where Hamlet has an epiphany about suicide.
