Drunk driving is such an unexplainable epidemic in our world today. Some of you who are reading my question may have fell victim to a loved one who was killed by a drunk driver or may have known someone who was. Well, I have and it hurts deeply. Especially to know that someone made a careless decision to drive under the influence. It almost make you think this person meant to get on the road to drive and didn't care if someone's life was in danger. The death rates are pretty high due to the cause of drunk driving. My question is, would it even be possible (regardless of those whom consume alcohol) for a president or anyone in charge to just shut down any, all and every company(ies) that produces alcohol? If so, at least the highways would be a bit safer. Please answer this question with all due respect.

Have you heard of the 18th Amendment? Congress cannot just shut down alcohol companies, but they can make it illegal to buy, sell and manufacture it. However, that did not work out too well. Banning alcohol may make highways safer, but criminals will prosper by selling and making illegal alcohol. And the rest of the country will be much, much more dangerous.

Many people have "answers" to what would make the world safer. The only problem is that not everyone agrees with these answers. Actually, the majority doesn't. You would be much further ahead, and much happier with the results (if you got any) by pressing the courts to enforce drunk driving convictions with stiffer sentences. I hate seeing people who have 3, 4 or even more convictions and are still being caught behind the wheel drunk. I feel it is better to prosecute the minority for their crimes than to remove freedoms from the majority who drink lawfully and take responsibility for their actions. Just my opinion.

Do you remember ever studying about Prohibition? That didn't and couldn't work. And you only talked about domestic producers. What about all the foreign producers and importers? With all due respect, I'm sorry for your loss but your approach is not reasonable at all.
