No. But I also don't think they are trying to take those rights away, as the Republicans are doing...

EITHER party, has been unable or unwilling to get much done at this phase of the election cycle for 3 reasons:
1. can't offend lobbyists
2. many votes need a TWO THIRDS majority which NEITHER party rarely has had.
3. Mainly, an election is looming, they have gone into cautionary mood.......
Democrats are bureaucrats by nature, particularly elected officials , so the pace of decision making is painfully slow.
Republicans like to go around the system, act uni-laterally in a controlling way without accepting feedback or providing much information.
Pick your poison.............

Since you cite the NY Times, I'm reminded of a quote I first heard just yesterday. It explains what I think of NYT as a source.
“It appears we have appointed our worst generals to command forces, and our most gifted and brilliant to edit newspapers. In fact, I discovered by reading newspapers that these editor/geniuses plainly saw all my strategic defects from the start, yet failed to inform me until it was too late. Accordingly, I am readily willing to yield my command to these obviously superior intellects, and I will, in turn, do my best for the Cause by writing editorials -- after the fact.” Robert E. Lee, 1863
Beyond that, let me just say that I don't believe foreign nationals who have fought against my country are entitled to any of the rights my country's soldiers are dying to preserve for me.

Sorry but I still don't understand how a foreign national, who was engaged in an act of war, without a uniform, has any rights in the American justice system. If they had just been shot on the field of battle, as they deserve, we wouldn't be having these problems.

Not likely. Democrats have zero interest in the constitution. To them it is only an obstacle.

absolutely not- all they want to do is keep themselves in power...as do the republicans. We the people need to send a message and fire (unelect) all incumbents!
