(UK)New neighbours moved in last year and since they have, I have continued to receive his business mail for his construction company at my address(none of his personal mail though). Not just receiving it at my address by accident, it is actually addressed to my address. I have asked them on numerous occasions to correct this as my home is not a business. It is still carrying on, and I worry that if his company gets into financial difficulties, it will be my address that they would turn up looking for money! I have been sending the mail "Return to sender, not known at this address for a while now, but the mail continues to arrive. I don't know who to turn to about this but don't wish to fall out with them about it. I need it to stop though, and having just recently become a widow at 43years, it is just another problem in my life to add to my distress. Does anyone know who or where I can turn to about this?

Surely the first thing to do is to have a word with your neighbour.
As a safeguard, consult the people at the Citizens' Advice Bureau to find the legal situation if your neighbour does go bankrupt and papers come to your abode.
It does sound to me like you're doing the right thing though.

I have been trying for several years to stop mail for other people addressed to my house. The Royal Mail promises to look into the problem but never solve it. Wherever you turn for help you always get the same empty promises. I now just put the mail under the stairs and give it to the postman when I see him.

Just keep returning it, with big letters, and in different ink each time, HE DOES NO LIVE HERE!! Then if that don't work put a box on the ground in front of your mailbox, and tell your delivery guy to put all those letters that belong to him in there and just leave them there!! Good Luck.

when you next see your postman, tell him to put red stickers on the neighbours letters that are addressed to your address and that mail will be sent back. It is up to your new neighbour to sort this out at he clearly put your address as his address, something fishy going on here I suspect...maybe he's trying to avoid future creditors.

good luck in getting this sorted out :)

This is more simple than you realize. All you have to do is tell your local postal service, like post office or postal carrier, not to deliver these mails... they will return them to sender unopened.
