ive just purchased a maisonette flat.. one of four.. its a bove a shop and the owner of the shop owns the leasehold of the maisonettes.. what responsibilities does he have as a leaseholder.. whats the difference between my rights as a flat owner and his rights a s a leaholder .. also whats my responsibilites?

The repairs of the flat is the responsibility of the owner while the cleanliness is the duty of the lessee.

Daniel, you need to read your lease carefully, all the terms and conditions should be specified in there. If the "legalese" of the language defeats you, try the CAB, they'll be able to turn up someone who can translate for you.
