When I travel for my company they pay me an hourly rate for the time I'm in the car. Salaried employees don't get anything. The person that drives their own car also gets 42 cents a mile or something like that. We stay for weeks. The company is also responsible for where we stay and our meals. We get $25 a day for food.

You don't have to pay an employee to go to work. The only time travel would be covered would be if the employee was going between job sites.
