I passed my driving test in 2004, lost it for 2 speeding offences in 2006, each 3 points - (the law states that if you get 6 points within the first 2 years, you have to reapply for provisional etc...) - so i passed my test again in 2006. On the back of my new driving licence, it says 2004 as the pass date -how long do I tell my insurance company i've had my licence?? 1 year or 3?

Always tell the truth

Tell them the truth. If you have an accident, not only will your insurance be invalid but you'll most likely be disqualified from gaining further insurance. You'll also probably lose your driving licence again for driving without insurance and face police charges too. Is it really worth it to save a couple of quid?

Ask them. You will have had to tell them about the conviction anyway so ask them. It wont make any difference except if you are wrong you will be in front of a judge for having no insurance.

They will ask and you can tell them 100 years if you want. It is what they see on your driving record that they will use to set your new insurance rate.
