This kid I know has been institutionalized throughout his whole life and has been diagnosed with bipolar, antisocial, and many other illnesses of the mind. He meets this fifteen year old girl who starts to date him (he's eighteen) for his money and rides. He loses his job and she doesn't want to date him anymore because of that so she goes to her mom and tells her about it. He goes to jail gets back out and she is after him again because he has a job. He gets back with her (she's now sixteen) and he gets in trouble again. She has his baby and since he is a sex offender... he will never see it.

Now he can't get any work or financial aid. Since he is an orphan and mentally challenged he is at an even bigger disadvantage. SSI has been denying him and he says he hasn't been able to get any aid. He resides in NY state. He spoke to his parole officer about not being able to find any work and he said that is his problem. He is supposed to see a psychiatrist but can't.

Can anything be done?

I have to go to court soon, I need a court appointed attorney. From what iv'e found out, you get one the day of your court date. But it just doesnt sound right to me cuz of the lack of time to discuss your defense. so does anyone know if you have to request one in advance? Do you have to go to court in person when you do or can you do it by phone? Does it cost anything? Whats the big difference between a public defender and one you hire?

I was in department store with a friend and he saw an itrip that he wanted. so he took it out of the package and put it in his pocket. i walked away while he was doing this because i didnt want anything to do with it. so as we are walking out of target a security gaurd walks out and yells to us to have a nice day. we were walking in the parking lot walking to our car when he said this to us. is there anything that could happen to me if i never stole it? how would they contact him or i if we live in another state? is it possible for them to check the security cameras and get the license plate number and contact us somehow? mainly i just want to know if anything could happen to me.

I don't think a person's credit history should be available for the public to view, especially a potential employer! It is no one's business how I've foolishly squandered my previous earnings and how does it show what my performance will be at a job? To me, it is a violation of my rights of privacy, or have we let our government strip us of all those little rights? What do you think?

After years of observation. I have come to the conclusion that ANY LEGISLATION PASSED AT STATE AND FEDERAL LEVEL is passed for only a couple of reasons and those reasons have nothing to do with improving the lives of the American people but always to improve the size and numbers of corporate bank accounts and offshore numbered bank accounts of the bottom of the pond, scum sucking politicians we elect but who in reality represent Corporate interests. The more agencies, the more hands the taxpayers money has to go through increases the ability of our, excuse me, their politicians to siphon off a few millions along the way. Everything including most wars have nothing to do with freedom or anything else but everything to do about money. Look at Iraq. How many millions has Cheney's company made? No bid contracts, fraud, secret meetings at the White house. When I was in, it was save the Vietnamese people. Now, it's save the Iraqi People. The slogans change but the reasons never do.

The times are so drastically different when the Constitution was written. I'm no gun expert but I don't believe our forefathers had automatic rifles and guns that could shoot so many rounds a second. Just asking the question...

Ok, we all agree, guns should be banned completely. Let's just pass another law. I'm sure all the griminals and hot heads who believe only they have the right to drive our highways or cut in at the head of the line. will automatically transform into caring selfless individuals. Here's another possibility. Tomorrow morning we all might awake as true christians who obey the Ten Commandments right to the letter. Ya, right. Ok, our answers to this problem are growing few in number. We can execute every one of them who are convicted on hard evidence but that would be inhumane. It's ok for them to commit unspeakably horrible, torturous acts upon others but after all those who commit such acts do have their rights, more rights than their victims. Either execute or build more and more and more prisons and tax the people more and more and more to provide rooms for each, health care, education and college enducation, dental, trailers for spousal overnight stays.
