my daughters mother was shot and killed in another state than where we reside what are my legal options in getting some kind of compensation for her as she grows up without her mom it sounds like it will only cost the shooter 7 yrs of his life as mo. only charged him with armed criminal action and unintentional homicide in the first degree 85%of that sentence is all he will have to serve in prison it has not yet gone to trial but after reading the statutes it looks like because it wasnt on purpose supposedly he will get a light sentence while my daughter lives the rest of her life without her biological mother even though we were never married how can i provide for her in the ways she deserves because of some punks negligable use of a handgun

Is there any recourse (in court or otherwise) for my family against our neighbor and his family for blaring their horns multiple times per day when they pass our house? We know they are doing on purpose but I'm not sure if we can prove that in court. We have a shared easement and they have to drive past our house to get to theirs.

In Maharashtra, under the model bye laws, members pay equally for common facilities like lighting, security, lifts garbage collection etc., and pro-rata as per area of flat, for Major Repairs, Municipal taxes etc.Since cable TV is not a common maintenance item like common lighting, security, lifts, garbage collection etc.and I have installed Tata Sky, Therefore Rajesh Cable Charges Rs 300 Per Month should be excluded in the Maintaineance bill from 01.04.2007, but society is still not waiving and i iasked them, charges should be raised as per facility used or else ask individual to pay to rajesh cable direcly? Pl clarify as society is not listening and i am trying to cut Rs 900 per quarter if society does not listen, is it fair by doing injustice to members?

I have recieved a cheque of 1,50,000 rs from a person in my city, in return of the cash that I paid him some time back.
I have an entry of this transaction in my account.
He never paid me the money and I served him the notice for cheque dishonor.
The case is running in the court for the past 4 years.I have also put a civil case.
In case today after four years, this person surrenders in the court and says I am willing to pay the money.
But past four years have been a disaster for me I have been spending most of my time and resources for fighting this case.
Can I appeal the court, that I will get the money from him in the civil case but as far as Cheque Dishonor is concerned my target
is to get him imprisonment. In this case what will be the outcome only Financial penalty or imprisonmet also?
If you can please put some light with latest cases that would be great.

Hi, I am 16, live in Ohio, and work at Dairy Queen. I get paid $5.50/hour although the minimum wage is $6.85. They call it "training wage" . I have been working there for about three weeks now, but my friend has been working there for a month and is still on the training wage. And we both do more and better work then people who have been there for many months. Also we had no notice that we would be receiving a "training wage" we were never told this at anytime We do not get tips or anything like that either. So I am just wondering how it is legal for them to rip us off like this?????

A yes or no answer would be fine, but if you would like to elaborate please do so. There is no right or wrong answer, I'm just curious to know how the average citizen views the justice system. If you would, please include if you have or have not worked with the Justice System.

The mental habit of overlooking superficial differences in physical appearance, personal beliefs, dietary preferences, and lifestyle to find a basis for mutual respect and communication.

I need cultural flexibility in my life, having the right people on the right team with the right kind of support, will give me the power to move mountains. I am open to change. I am ready.

I just got back from a school trip to D.C., yesterday, and while outside of the 'White House', yelled, "Impeach Bush!", "We pay your Bills", and "Bush is a Baby-Killer". I was outside the gate, near audio/ video boxes I believe, do you think I am being watched by the government, more than I may have been before? P.S. I have anxiety and a caffeine addiction.

I watched a program last night profiling the lives of inmates in a Louisiana prison. It was suggested that most inmates behind bars insist they are innocent. Is this really the norm? What lies beneath these beliefs? What are the exceptions?

I know I've asked a couple questions here instead of just one, but, really, any insight on this is appreciated...

They like to point out that Clinton fired all U.S. Attorneys and nobody complained. But do they ever go find out why nobody complained? I did. Turns out it's normal to replace the attorneys when a new administrations comes in. Previous presidents have done it too, including Reagan. But replacing YOUR OWN appointees for blatant political reasons - like they didn't investigate members of the opposite party enough - is a threat to the independence of the entire Justice Department. As usual, the right wingers throw around facts they don't even understand.
