Most times the auto mechanic can diagnose and will know what the replacement parts cost. An automobile is a much more simple machine than a human being.
But, look at this:
Now hospitals are paid by medicare per diagnosis, there is a law called DRG, which established a fixed payment per diagnosis, and that is regardless of whether the patient is in the hospital for 2 or 3 or 4 days.
So, you see, we are getting there, aren't we.
Still, doctors and hospitals can not guarantee you, the outcome of your operation or illness. That is because there are too many unknowable facts about a particular human being.

Because a car is a much simpler machine than a human body.
Cars do not have the capacity to heal themselves, and are not prone to infections when you open them to do a repair. Cars won't lie to you about their symptoms. Cars, at least those built in the last 15 or twenty years, can be repaired by exchanging easily obtained parts.
I could go on, but you either get this concept or you don't.

Pretty much like. . .
If I "pay" for a vacuum cleaner and it DOESN'T work, I take it back to the store and get my money back. So, why when you "pay" an Attorney, and his so called "legal skills" DON'T work, I can't get my money back?
Don't you hate when people answer a question with a question???
