what is the punishement for stealing valve caps a.k.a. stem caps or chromies?

i know ppl who have done it. whats the punishement if u get caught?

Actually a misdemeanor would qualify you for a sentence of less than a year in any state. A felony results in a sentence of more than a year. If a cop wanted to push your valve stem issue to the letter of the law, they could potentially charge you with attempted grand theft auto, which would result in a much stiffer punishment.

depends on the state.

Misdemeanor theft can get you a year in jail in my state.
