Stop the sale of Illicit drugs and Crime will go down dramatically! You do not see wars and gang warfare over Tobacco, soda pop, coffee or Alcohol! Those that cannot handle liquor should not drink it!

It would dramastically increase the crime rate if you took it to that severe of a pusishment. Also depends on what you mean by "crime rate".

When something is illegal, it doesn't stop people from getting it, it just hands it over to the black market, where you get gangs started, and people causing damage by getting away from police.

Now, you impose an even more severe penalty, like hanging for say having a glass of wine, if someone is caught, say mrs. smith from down the street, she is going to be more likely to pull a gun and put up one hell of a fight.. I mean, she is heading to the gallows in the morning. Your asking for more trouble.

The way to decrease crime rate is legalize drugs and regulate them through the government, such as applying FDA schedules to heavy street drugs just like the do with vicodin and etc. Marijuana should the be regulated just like alcohol is.

Honestly, I believe that alcohol should be more heavily regulated and marijuana should be less regulated, because even now, after a night at the bar, boy can people do some messed up things that they would never do. Marijuana users tend to be less violent, and drive at say 5 mph rather than 60 and swerving everywhere like someone that is drunk.

They tried that in America - it was called Prohibition. And it bred the gangsters like Al Capone etc etc.
Drugs are banned. People will do anything to get their hands on it, though. I think the crime rate will fall down if they unban it. Doesn't mean I agree with that, by the way. It simply means that if murder was no longer forbidden, then it would no longer be a crime and the stastics would show as such.

i do no longer think of it would exchange plenty... I propose, particular, a number of human beings commit crime to insurrection, yet, if there have been no longer as many regulations, human beings might basically circulate forward and do it besides. however, a number of human beings do no longer even understand the regulations of this usa, so as that they think of they are in a position to wreck out with it, or they be afflicted by stupidity. possibly basically everybody desires some coaching... IDK... there is not any win-win subject to crime in case you commit it! If further and further human beings understand each and every of the outcomes, possibly-optimistically-much less human beings might do it. everybody suffers-the victims, the sufferer's relatives, the criminal's relatives, and the criminal! WHY the hell do no longer criminals get it????!!!!!

No I doubt it. Majority of crimes committed have nothing to do with alcohol or drugs. While it may help with some of the crime, it definitely won't alleviate it because everyone committing crimes isn't on either of these substances.

Hmmm, I had some wine with dinner last night, and then got real wild and had somemore after dinner. After my fourth glass of wine, I started looking for my guns. I was going to rob the bank in town to get somemore "wine" money. Well, guess what? As I was "planning" my crime I had "1" more glass of wine, and ZAP- I passed out- no crime committed!
Na, my "wine" didn't take your money after all!!

just the opposite. people want drugs and alchohol. criminal enterprise will develop to supply them.

in countries with strong anti drug laws good honest citizens are forced to purchase their drugs from criminals.
