I was told by my Area Manager that my Supervisor and I ran an illegal parent meeting because we supposedly did not follow Robert's LAW. From what i've read, this is not in our company's bylaws, so how is it that we ran an illegal meeting?

Hello I broke up with my Boy Friend. He will not sign off my portion of the lease. He wanted to work a shady deal where I take over for the summer months while he takes over his best friends who is going away! I told him no because he didnt want to tell the leasing office and didnt want to sign a contract! I called the leasing office but they cant do a thing unless he sign me off. I dont want to do his shady business also I dont trust him and his friend. I do feel they are pulling a fast one. I also emailed the fair housing commision in my city! Meanwhile I have to commute like 2 hours away, cuz he threw me out. Also June's rent is coming up. This guy quits his job. He is going to ruin my credit cuz I told him I'm not paying . I know I sound like a crazied person but this person is getting under my skin!

I am one of 4 heirs to an aunt's estate. One of the heirs just had a major stroke and may not survive. If he passes away before the estate proceeds are distributed, would his wife get 1/4 of our aunt's estate, or would it then be divided by 3 instead of 4? This is in Michigan. Don't get me wrong, I truly hope my cousin survives and regains his good health.

My land lord is an evil man....no end to his henious ways. However, I'm moving very shortly. I'm considering the following: I'd like to line all of the streetpoles down my block with signs that say "Don't Rent 123 ***** Ave."
I'd like them to face away from the house on both sides, so that any prospective tenants would see a row of signs no matter which way they approached. I'm also considering asking the adjoining neighbor (who has a new 6 foot fence at the egde of the property) if I'd be able to post a sign on a pole about eight feet off the ground and about 8 feet inside his propety line, that says the same thing.
Before you ask: yes, I paid my rent on time, we're quiet, clean tenants, and I don't consider myself a troublemaker by nature. What are the legal ramifications of an act like this?

My landlord wants to evict me by the 1st, and it is the 21st. I have only lived here for three weeks, and we haven't even signed a lease yet. Now, here is the whole story. I had about four people on the porch. We were having a BQ, and that wa it. No loud msuc, or yelling. Then one of my guests went down the stairs off the porch. The stairs collapsed, and he fell and broke his elbow. I informed my landlord that the steps had collapsed, and the man had broke his elbow. She tells me i hope you have renter's insurance. I told her that I knew my rights and that renters insurance isn't going to cover this man falling of her stairs. She said," Well, then I want you out by the first. What should I do? Should I stay and fight it? or should i leave and sue her for an unlawfull eviction?

Long story short, I resigned a position and was owed commissions which I was never paid. I filed a claim with the labor board and was granted a judgment for owed commissions and penalties. The business owner closed the company since then, but he still owns the corporation name, which is who the judgment is against. The amount is around $30,000, and I'd like to get some or all of that, but he won't pay and didn't even show up at the labor board hearings. Any suggestions. This is in California by the way.

A man's wife of twenty years learns that her husband is having an affair and is transferring all their savings into an account and leaving the country, abandoning her and her kids. She obtains a gun and shoots him in the head, killing him. She dumps his body in a river.
A man who has a low opinion of women kidnaps a nineteen year old girl running alone in a park, kills her, dismembers her body and sticks her head in a jar to keep in his house.
Both of them get caught.
In your opinion, is one crime harsher than the other? Does one deserve a stricter punishment than the other.
How would your state/country deal with them and would they see a difference or would both people be charged with first degree?

I went to India in 1978 and married I was 15 years old and from the U.S., my "husband" was 30 years old and from India, I was an emancipated minor in the U.S. and my husbands Father signed for me as guardian in India to be married. We came back to the U.S. a month later, and have had two beautiful children. My Husband is now deceased and I have been told since that our marriage was not really legal, and I was hoping a Lawyer in India could tell me if this is true? My parents had not given permmission, but I was emancipated so did not think I needed permmission. Any help is appreciated, and if it matters our children are over 18, so no one is expecting to get social security benefits!

Last september i went with my friend to look for a new cell phone/program thingy. Well her credit was bad and that meant she would have to put a down payment. THe guy suggested that i check if my credit is better and get the phone for her. I didn't like the idea because we weren't the best of friends and i already had a phone and the plan that she picked was for two people. anyways. we left the tmobile place with a family plan two phones. and only one person. well before the 14 days came up she decided that she did not like the phone she received so we went back and returned it. The guy said that i should change the name of the person in charge of thebill so that -she receives the bill. well i told her that i did not no longer want to be responsible for her phone. which in the beginnning was my fault. so she payed the down payment and got a phone under her own credit. well a couple weeks later i received the bill from when she had the phone and it was 180 dollars from text messaging.
