Dating isn't illegal; however sexual contact may be depending upon which State you reside in and what the age of legal consent is for that State.

In most states 17 is considered old enough to both date and is the age of consent.

Depends on what state you're in and whether or not you're sleeping together. I've attached a website that gives "age of consent" by state. If you are in a state where age of consent is 18, yes, your boyfriend could go to jail. It's called "statutory rape".

It depends on where you live, also. Some state laws' age of consent is 16.

He can.
Let your parents know, because they have the authority to have him busted.
If he's a decent fellow, they might let you date. Otherwise, statutory rape is what he could get charged with.
