In general, does the public think CPS is a good/ bad idea... Think about it, is it not in the childs best interest to be with the parents unless absolutly immediate threat to the child is present?

I know of a few cases...

1) Man in cali got CPS called on him for not giving his daughter a medicine that caused her more health problems then the one she already had.. Has been fighting back and forth for 5 years, lots of money, and his wife has been in and out of the hospital ever since with anxiety...

I am in the process of filing a civil suite against someone, I haven't retained an attorney yet but within the next week I will. Can someone tell me an average price it would cost to obtain a court order once I have retained a lawyer? The civil suite will take plae in Virginia, but a ballpark figure from anywhere in the US would at least help give me an idea.

My bio mom's rights were terminated in 9-94. My dad was given full custody. My step mom adopted me in Feb 95. They split, my dad met another woman and has another family. He still pays support according to rates from 10 years ago - due to a threat of removing me from my adopted mother. (Attorney's told her not to chance it.) I graduate this year and my mom is on disability due to cancer. Money is tight. I would like to help out more if I can. May I collect ch. support for myself from the court order on my bio mom from 1990 - 1994 without consent from my biological father. He has not had contact for several years and has minimally supported me through the years. I know collection in AZ can be made up to three years after the child has made age of majority, but can I ask courts to pay me vs. my dad? How? Can I find her and ask her to pay me and it will count if he does decide to collect?

I was a witness to a crime in 2005 at my undergraduate university. Last Wednesday (Feb 21st) an officer from the university police called me and told me that I am subpoenaed to go to court for the crime I witnessed. The court date is this Wednesday (Feb 28th)...Tomorrow! The problem is he just told me that I was subpoenaed, I never received anything in the mail and no uniformed officer came to my door to deliver it. I am currently a grad student and live over over 2 and 1/2 hours away from the courthouse. Do I have to go to court if I never received the actual subpoena? Will there be ramifications for me?

Here is absolute proof that natural selection works.

YUBA CITY, Calif. — Authorities investigating a fatal crash in California say they found a dead driver's laptop computer in the wreckage. It was still running.

They believe the man was using the computer while driving. It was plugged into his car's cigarette lighter.

The man's car crossed into oncoming traffic near Yuba City yesterday and collided with a Hummer. The couple inside the Hummer escaped with just bumps and bruises.

The road about 30 miles north of Sacramento was closed for about two hours.

Still think natural selection and evolution does not work?

I was thinking that Britian is such a nice police state with cameras everywhere and everyone yelling to punish one another to the fullest extent humanly possibly. Wouldn't it be dandy if we could punish Britts for thought crimes? I don't think it would fly in America since we are slowly figuring out the police state thingy does not work. What do you guys think?

Won't it be damaging for his later life that he's being pointed as a scapegoat of the malfunction of his family and the problems that our society has with food?
Won't it destroy his self-esteem the fact that he's being laughed at and pointed at in the street if he was some character of Little Britain?

President Bush turned to alternative fuels, and alternative companies, to argue Friday that his goal for reining in gasoline consumption in the coming decade was realistic.

Ric Fulop, vice president of A123 Systems of Watertown, Mass., which modified the car, said a battery that would power it for about 40 miles between overnight chargings cost $10,000 and would last through 7,000 cycles of charging and discharging — “more than the life of the vehicle.”

To a repeated question as to whether he would consider one of the vehicles for his ranch in Texas, Mr. Bush simply wished the assembled reporters a good weekend and returned to the Oval Office.
Is that a good example of leadership?
