can we argue , even for a private establishment who uses a publicly controlled liquor license, that giving a free alcoholic beverage based on gender, is discriminatory?

ok, if your sister, or someone like that is adopted into the family, no blood whatsoever, is it illegal to have sex with her or something? like, is it acctually against the law to do that with someone you adopt? and no, i do not want to do this! i was just wondering, cause its very interesting, lol. also, say, if your sister or brother was way older than you were or something, and their kid, who shared no blood with you, well, if you and their kid wanted to get married or something. is that illegal?

They could send them to boot camp first, anyone who doesn't pass the course, or who doesn't conform to military life should be sent to jail. or sent to iraq anyway as support staff (cooks, laundry attendants etc)

Ok I'm in college and just got a summons for jury duty in late March. I graduate in May and move away from the county where the summons was issued. If I postpone my jury duty until after my graduation date, can I then ask to be disqualified from their jury service since I am no longer living in the county?(not living in the county was cause for dismissal in the summons)

Should America allow itself to have practically puritanical fundamentalist towns and nudist anything goes towns?

Why does a country as big as America have to have across the board values, so that a few religio-political and fashion tycoons can tell us how to spend our money?

I would love to get everyone's opinion on such an important and controversial topic: american rights. If anyone has any websites that may also include information on this subject it would be greatly appreciated!

Why do I read so many people talking about how they are pro firearm ownership but that we shouldn't have assault riffles? They all say that you don't hunt with them, or that they doubt they are what the constitution is talking about when they say "arms." That is exactly what the constitution is talking about. They were talking about protection of yourself, from anyone. Tell you what, I am going to shoot rocks at you with a sling shot, you only get to throw them back... lets see who wins. My question is, what is so hard to understand about owning assault rifles? I have owned three for several years now, and I still haven't gone on a murdering rampage, killing spree at the mall, or even done anything illegal. Weird, legal owners staying legal.

first of all i have been dating my bf for a year and five months and i am upset with him, but there is no way i am going to break up with him unless he does this again!
ok he took an eight dollar car alarm from a local store and sense it was under 250 dollars that charged is being dropped. but what we are really concered about is that he had ten xanas and ten caldopins in his pocket @ the time. he bought them @ work to help a friend out because he needed money really bad. but my boyfriend was going to sell them back to him he just wanted to make sure that he was going to get his money back. he is 17 yrs. he has never been in trouble before and his record was completly clean. he makes good grades in school. so what will happen to him? his parents have a pretty good lawyer so will he only be on probation, house arrest, detention center, jail?

Hubby signed an agreement in July of '05 for a house we were moving into and wanted to purchase by July of '06 based upon us being able to get loan. We were not able to get the loan but the landlord continued to let us stay there until we moved out this past month. Now he wants to take us to court for breach of contract even though it expired last summer and no new contract was signed. Can he really do this?

This was provoked by a programme on tv earlier, where a bloke was ordered to remove work he'd done, and he was put in prison for 3 months because he wouldn't comply. He seriously believed he was in the right, yet appeared to be a professional person. The work resembled structure after an earthquake.

Here's the deal...

A close friend, who is a general contractor, has hired an immigrant who has a work visa petition pending. The catch is that the immigrant employee is no longer working for the company that originally petitioned for the work visa on behalf of the immigrant in question. Put more simply, Company B petitioned for employee, who now works for Company A, my friend's company.

My friend wants me to investigate the status of his employee's petition. First, the original petition is now void, since the employee is no longer working for the petitioner. Second, my friend knows that the employee entered the country illegally, and that the original petition was fraudulent, in that certain figures and numbers were exaggerated. The original petitioner is willing to continue the masquerade, and claim falsely that the employee still works for him.

Should I turn in Companies A and B, as well as the undocumented employee, to the proper authorities? What do you all think?

I have 1000's of old vhs' i want to sell online. Is it legal to take pictures of them and upload to webapp?

I have 1000's of my old vhs' videos that i want to sell online. Is it legal to take a picture of each of them and upload to webapp instead of just listing the name of each? How does sites like ebay handle the copyright issues? e.g. they let users post pictures of vhs's and no user gets permission of the vhs maker before selling it on ebay. I also notice a lot of mass-websites display cd cover thumbnail of cd's "coming soon" where they are still negotiating the rights to the music w/ the music label. Is there some resolution or common sense laws protecting companies right to have thumbnail pictures of products they sell or plan to sell even if its used and they have no agreement w/ the individual labels owning each old used product?

My friend is on probation for mis appropiate handling of burning material. His probation officer his being an *** and will not allow him to live with me or have any contact with my children.( this is supposedly stemming from an incident 10 years ago when he was 17 ( sex with a minor?) he was sentenced to probation then it was revoked, because his current girlfriend (15 he was 17) got pregnant he was sent to jail then he married this girl for 10 years, they got divorced and now his probation officer is using it against him! How much can these people tell you what you can and can't do? I see no relevence in what he is on probation for and what she is using against him.....Are there any lawyers who will even touch this? is ther anything I or my friend can do ? I have tried talking to her, and telling her to talk to my kids and various other people and she refuses. What can I do?
