I would love to get everyone's opinion on such an important and controversial topic: american rights. If anyone has any websites that may also include information on this subject it would be greatly appreciated!

I too have no problem with my privacy, however, it is, even if people don't mind, and invasion of the Bill of Rights.

Many people will say 'YES'. I am still waiting for someone to cite an actual provision of the Patriot Act that allows the government to do anything they were not allowed to do BEFORE the Patriot Act.

If you have something in your closet, yes. Otherwise, to protect my country, they can tap my phone all they want. But here is the big thing, they aren't just doing these so called rights violations to everyone they come across. There is some thing that jumps out at them. If you have someone who keeps making a phone call or internet hit to some person with possible ties with a not so friendly group, They may be someone of interest. Also, these "invasions" are usually involving non citizens or those with established links to questionable organizations.
Funny how people are all up in arms after something happens like 9/11, but after a while they forget. Seems like they would rather it happen again than to take steps to keep it from happening. All because someones feelings are hurt or they don't want that secret found out.
And that's my 2 cents.

I really don't think so. What are you doing that is so bad that you are worried about it? If having the government listen to a phone call or two keeps me or my loved ones from blown up thats cool with me.

Not only invading, but ignoring what used to be our rights before George W. Bush. Check out Probable Cause, Right to Privacy, No Knock entries, Freedom of Speech, ...etc. When a president promotes torture in secret prisons, no rights for prisoners at Guantanemo Bay, etc. etc., you can bet U.S. citizens are losing their rights and our country its reputation.

absolutely!!! and half the congressmen and women didn't even read the whole thing because "it was too long, and would take time from their other important duties" like reading the law they are voting to pass isn't their most important duty. it is a complete violation of privacy, i'm waiting for them to finally piss someone with money off enough that they'll take it to court. its so unconstitutional its unbelievable.
